I feel much better! In the past they have adjusted for me,absolutely no problem, so this new policy was surprising. I wouldn't feel this way if I paid more and my size was out (it's still available) so I'll go in with the items and see what they can do.
I am glad that several items I did buy at NAS haven't gone down and some haven't come back into stock and I even got the grey Frame jeans that were sold out during NAS at a lower price now. Maybe I should consider it a wash.
I guess this is the new reality, prices going up and down like this.

No, you are not over reacting.

i have noticed a lot of flip flop pricing this year which is not a usual for nordstrom, i must say.

Janet - is it possible they were price matching, and the price match period was over? That said, I have noticed an on and off sale of a pair of jeans I have looked at.

Nordstrom is driving me a little nuts lately. I bought an item in the lingerie department (pre NAS), and then noticed a couple of weeks ago that it had gone on sale. I still had it with tags on and was going to take it in to try a price adjustment. Well, today I was out and about and going to do that task, but I checked online and the item is back to regular price. This practice of taking things on and off of sale is infuriating.

I've been pretty disillusioned with Nordstroms lately. They don't seem to have their act together, esp via the website. AND I've gone to other, previously ignored retailers, who've stepped up their game and accommodated with really good customer service that Nordstroms failed to give me. (Looking at you Macys!!) My previous experiences with the ladies dept. and NAS has been really awful, so I've been pretty reluctant to spend on that--for the reason just given--sales later undercutting the items price. Only on items that were "must have" or very basic do I purchase now. I find that I do better just waiting for the new fall stuff about this time of year. And sometimes that goes on sale, too! Good luck if you decide to return in person....just decide what you want in advance, and be nice when you ask. If they say no, well, be ready to walk away. If you really want the items, then I'd say just leave it alone.

Was your size available still? If it was, I would be stunned that they didn't adjust the price for you. If your size wasn't available I wouldn't have expected a price adjustment (you pay higher to get first dibs and make sure you get your size).

Nordies really seems all over the map on this issue. After some other fabbers had this issue, they gave me the adjustment on the Vince hoody over the phone. That was just a week or so ago.

I don't think you're overreacting. I returned a pair of pants to Loft because in the time it took for them to send the pants to me, the price was lowered and then raised again. I just took them back. And I'm not inclined to shop there again soon.

I've felt it's perfectly legitimate to take an unworn item back in and ask for the adjustment. I can understand that they wouldn't want to do it over the phone past a certain point perhaps, but with the unworn item in hand, in person, why wouldn't they? If they say no, you can decide then whether to keep it at your original NAS price or to return it.

I think if your size is still available, you can argue you'll just buy it again and return the original item, and that would be more work for all of you than a price adjustment. However if it isn't... then I think you need to accept that things DO go on sale. If you weren't happy with the price you paid, then return it. After all, it's been several weeks now. Paying more is sometimes the price you pay to ensure you get your size.

I agree witih K. If the stuff is still unworn, try taking the items in and explaining that you would be willing to keep them if you could have a price adjustment, but if not, they will be returned on the spot. Being there with the items in hand will make it clear that you're ready to leave them there if necessary. It would be quite stupid IMO for them not to adjust the price, seeing as they have no possibility of getting more than the sale price for the items anyway once they are returned.

I think you should try taking them in and asking in person, with the items in hand, and explain that if they cannot, then you will need to return them. I had several items that went on sale that I had not worn. I just bought them again and then returned the original, older versions. However, when I went to take one item back (that I hadn't re-bought), the SA told me that if I was on the fence, she could adjust them for me. So those were adjusted on their own. I am quite certain that if you tell them that you'd like to keep them, but you will return them if they aren't price adjusted, they will figure out a way to get the price adjustment done.

I'm so disappointed in Nordstrom. My SA told me she can't adjust the items that have been marked down lower since the NAS. Since some of the stuff is still unworn, I'm thinking of returning them. It's so annoying to have purchased this stuff and see it for less now!
Am I overreacting? Thoughts?
