Rosie-Yes make-up colors are VERY hard for me to find. Despite all my best blending far too often, they are way too dark. I especially love when I try the lightest foundation color and THAT is still too dark. I only recently found a blush that is soft enough for me (L'Oreal of all brands-and here I was trying all the make-up counter one's). And I have YET to find an eyeliner pencil and mascara that don't run or bleed. I have naturally long eyelashes, so I just like a coat of color to make the eyes pop, I don't need any other features for mascara.

I just made a funny noise out loud...eye creams. Ugh. I'm always looking for ones I love that work. (Frankly, I've found that I really only get dissatisfied with how my eyes are doing when I'm not getting enough sleep.) One I keep coming back to is the Kiehls Avocado Eye Cream, but it might be too rich for some. It isn't as high tech or anti-aging as many, but my eyes seem to like the moisture.

There is a YSL one that I tried in the store and loved, but it was of course really pricey. I think Olay makes a good one, and even some other drugstore brands. Kinerase has a popular one...

You don't know how many times I've read all the reviews on Sephora!

I need to try the Mac Zoomlash. I am into the idea of alternating because I do actually throw my mascara out every three months so the cost adds up.

Makeup always fits, doesn't it. I use the Peter Thomas Roth anti aging gel cleanser (orange) and I like that. It definitely helps get all the makeup off after I use the remover pads.
My favorite mascara is actually MAC Zoomlash, but I usually alternate with L'Oreal Voluminous to save some money. Voluminous is quite nice.
Now what *I* really need help with? Eye creams! I have acquired wrinkles now, and I don't mind them, I just want to prevent a whole lot more as long as I can. Any recommendations?

San, I haven't been in to the Body Shop in a while - sounds lovely! Sarah, now I'm curious about the Clinique...but have to stick with my Temptu for a while. OHHH, Enchanted is gorgeous. Now I recall. I kind of want all of NARS' blushes. I have on Amour today, which is really bright on me but I like it, particularly when I am wearing glasses for some reason.

Scarlet, the mascara I have right now comes off really easily so I just wash it off; however, I'm glad to know about these Almay pads because I was wondering the same thing a while ago. I've been trying to find a cheaper mascara instead of the Trish McEvoy one I love, and am having some success with L'Oreal and now Neutrogena. They all seem to come off fine, but it does depend on what face wash I use. The Shu Uemura Oil Cleanser takes it off well.

Yeah...I could talk about this for days. It's always been easier for me to experiment and buy makeup than clothes!

I use the Almay Moisturizing Eye Makeup Remover pads.
http://www.drugstore.com/qxp21.....rizing.htm
I love it. It moisturizes as it removes, and the pads remove more product than cotton balls do. And it's cheap!

If you don't mind talking make-up, do you have any pointers for removing mascara? Previously I used DiorShow, which was really easy to wash off, but other mascaras (Dior Iconic, Helena Rubinstein Lash Queen, Givenchy Phenom) seem much more persistent, and I find even when I wash my face and use eye make-up remover at night, by the morning pigment has collected in fine lines under my eyes. Sorry, I know I am very make-up challenged.

In any case I enjoy reading the thread although I cannot contribute much.

I am not familiar with the Body Shop products at all. I'm glad you found something you like!
I used the Armani foundation for awhile, and then switched to Laura Mercier. I still felt like the coverage was to heavy, though. And it didn't stay on well. Then I switched to the Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer but it just wasn't quite enough coverage.
Then I found this product that completely rocked my world
http://sephora.com/browse/prod.....oryId=1254
It's the consistency of a tinted moisturizer, just a hair thicker. And the coverage is perfect. I can even apply it with a foundation brush, and it gives me almost a flawless complexion. Not quite as flawless as the spray system, but you know.
Sandy, here's the spray system
http://sephora.com/browse/prod.....yId=C21481

OOO...I love the look of Cactus Flower. I have Penny Lane and love it. I can't remember offhand which Enchantment is. I think you and I could talk about makeup forever. I hope you love the Naked palette...I am going to have to look at it.

So far I like the Temptu a lot. I am always trying different foundations and get frustrated with them - they settle wrong, make me look/feel dry/oily, etc. Hopefully I continue to like it as it is an investment...but so was trying a new foundation every couple of months!

Lisa, is it hard for you to find colors?

I love this conversation! I have not yet met a make up that I loved so much. You ladies really know your stuff.
The other day I went to The Body Shop and bought some things. I haven't shopped there before this. I got the scrubs and lotions, then I looked at the foundation. I told the sales person I am tired of the thick make up that I have, and I want something non pastey looking. I bought their foundation that is a very thin liquid, which is the same consistancy of the Armani foundation that I tried last year. Are you familiar with this kind of product at all?
What is the spray on make up system?

I've heard good things about that airbrush system. How awesome is that? I want to try a spray foundation sometime, but honestly I'm perfectly content with the products I use - I just love trying new things with makeup.
I tried to get the UD palette the day it released but it sold out! It finally restocked yesterday so I snatched it up first thing.
Since we're talking all kinds of makeup...I just got a new blush that I love so much, I could marry and have babies with it. O:) It's the Nars Cactus Flower cream blush. I tried Enchanted first, but it's so pale on, that I had to exchange it. Now if I could afford to buy Enchanted just to frame it on my wall, I would.

I'm in agreement about the free gift snag. Too often in the past I've purchased items just to get the free gifts and end up rarely using the extra purchase NOR the free gift items. Plus often the colors in the gift sets are off for my pale tone. It is far easier to buy one item at a time as I need them in non-bulk packaging.

I have so much makeup that sometimes I feel like just starting over! I have a confessions to make, though: I got the Temptu airbrush system last month, which pretty much used up all $$ I have for makeup! I can't believe I bought it, but so far I really like it. Foundation never stays on me and this one seems to last a long time.

My makeup case(s) were getting as overstuffed as my closet and I'm really trying to be so selective this next season. I don't mean to rain on your fun, though. Obviously if you love it and want it and need it, it's a good deal. Most of MACs stuff is their Mineralize line and I just don't like that as much. The Chanel quad is lovely, but I'm holding out for their Enigma quad, and as nice as some of the other things were, I decided I liked the new Urban Decay NAKED 12-set eyeshadow even better.
And you're so right on the free gifts thing. I'm trying to not be such a sucker for stuff like that anymore.

Here's my feeling on the NAS makeup selections. I saw them, and they do look nice. But the way I see it is that it would be more cost effective for ME to purchase the items I need when I need them rather than buying collections. I may love one or two things but the rest is probably not what I like.
I did get lucky with one of the MAC sets last year though. I'd try to see them in store if just in case. I looked at the Chanel, MAC, and Lancome collectiions but I didn't love every item so it wasn't worth it to me.
Besides, I always have a running list of makeup wants as it is. Grr.
