Tarzy-I am so glad all my crazy pants/bum photos are helping others. I go nuts with fitting bottoms. They are quite soft and hug the leg closer to the body but I don't feel they are so tight that I would only be able to wear them with long tops. I was looking for a dual pair of pants, one for flats and shorter tops as well as tucking into boots.

I did order my regular size. I wear a 27 in the J Brand, as well as Joe's jeans, and Lucky jeans. So I consider myself pretty consistent. In other brands, I am usually a 4. Hope that helps!

Cciele-It makes me happy when I hear a good review for something I am keeping, thanks!

Glad you are keeping the J Brand! Awesome fit on you. And it's a great brand; I have J Brand bootcuts and love them.

This is actually very helpful. At first I couldn't see any difference between the Kut and the J Brand. I had to compare side to side. But I guess now I sort of see that the leg of the J Brand doesn't have quite as much material and seems to hug the leg better. Is that right?

Lisa - did you order your normal size in the J Brand? I've been tempted to try the J Brand Hidden Hills, which are supposed to have a higher rise, but I'm not sure about sizing.

Thanks everyone for looking and commenting!

So the consensus is:

1-Kut Kloth Skinnies from Angie's List
I'm going to return, they aren't bad, but they can't compare to the J Brand. And I don't mind investing in a pricey pair, if they are going to last and last and last. I have another pair I ordered in blue on it's way, so it looks like those will have to go back too.

2-J Brand Skinny Leg
I'm glad these are going to work. And not having to shorten is such a treat! I'm also happy to hear good reviews on these too. I have another pair in a blue color on order since I ordered both black and blue in BOTH the KUT and J Brand at the same time.

Scarlet-Rosie, I agree, it is a peeve when short lengths still need tailoring. And you are right the J Brand are extremely soft. I almost forget they are on!

3-Gap Always Skinny
These are going back. I'm convinced Gap has changed their methods. I have 2 skinnies from previous years and they fit great. Plus the material is not the same on these. I don't think these would last long.

4-BR Ponte Pants
These are going back. I'm not sure what they really are and they don't fit my wardrobe gap.

bj1111-The link did not work for me. But I don't think my BR has the Martin pants at the moment.

I am just being honest over here It can be disheartening to get the "petite" inseam hemmed. I love skinny jeans with some slouch, but I am not sure if I arrived at this opinion purely through aesthetics

Scarlet-Rosie, you always make me laugh: "but if you are lazy like me then just distribute the bagging more over the bottom of your leg so that it's not all at the ankle". *chuckle*

I'm with the gals. Great J brand jeggings, Lisa. I LOVE my J Brand jeans. They are my favourites. I like the KUT next.

J Brand all the way. I think they look the best, and I bet they are the softest too. Are they? They don't bag out at all. I have a pair of "jeggings" from J Brand that I wear all the time, and they earned my undying loyalty because they always fit. You could probably shorten them, but if you are lazy like me then just distribute the bagging more over the bottom of your leg so that it's not all at the ankle. I think you could probably find a better Ponte, but it depends what you are looking for.

I like the J Brand ones by far the best, and I do not think they need shortening - they have the perfect amount of scrunch as is.

The Kut ones are second. The Gap ones would probably work only for tucking into boots.

Those ponte pants are not the Martin skinny ones everyone was talking about. They would also work well for tucking into boots.

Ignoring any "these jeans will bag out" issues, because I'm not qualified to talk about that, I like the J-brand the best by far, then the Gap, then the Kut pants. I feel like the Ponte pants are a different animal altogether.

Hi,

Continuing with my NAS loot, I'm back to trying to fit this pretty pear into some pants. Do any of these work? And it appears Gap and BR threw some of their own pants into the mix.

I would love to find one pair that is dual role, for flats and tucking into boots. Sometimes my other bottoms require a lot of adjusting throughout the day when going from standing to sitting often while tucked into boots.

#1-Kut Kloth Skinnies from Angie's List
As suggested I sized down, surprisingly they weren't very snug to get on despite being a smaller size than I normally buy. Good for the ego if nothing else.

Kut Pants Front View

Kut Pants Close Up View These would need shortening if they are a yes, right?

Kut Pants Back View

#2-J Brand Skinny Leg
The SA mentioned these (not sure if they are skinnies or jeggings) are very popular for tucking into boots. They are also quite pricey so if anyone has any negatives about these let me know. Also, do these bag out?

J Brand Front View

J Brand Back View

J Brand Close Up View
These would need shortening if they are a yes, right?

#3-Gap Always Skinny
Since I have a couple pairs of Gap already, I figured I'd give these a whirl. The kicker to me, these are CROP pants! Really! For who, amazons?

Gap Front View

Gap Back View

Side View because they are cute at the bottom. But these do not look like crops to me.

#4-BR Ponte Pants
I thought these were the Ponte Pants I keep reading about on the forum. But now I don't think so. I can't find them online, yet the receipt said "ponte" on them. Hubby saw these and said they look like spandex. I'm confused, they have back pockets, and are really soft and heavy, but what are they really. And are these keepers?

BR Pants Front View

BR Pants Back View

Comments/Suggestions are welcomed and thanks for looking!
