I'm glad the Veda worked out, Jennifer. Hope we see a pic soon.

These were the best leather jackets on my petite clients at the sale - in a petite size:

It seems to lay perfectly fine (no bunching) -- it just doesn't look like the style I expected. If I were to keep it, the only alteration for fit purposes would be taking the sleeves up about an inch.

Since nobody's around right now to take a photo, for illustrative purposes, it is more like the length of my army jacket (below)....

I know that Veda very well, and I've had it on a variety of petites. LOVE that jacket! I do not mind the longer length on petites at all, provided it doesn't bunch up when zipped. Sometimes if the body is too short waisted for it, it won't lay right (I have not checked if that could be altered, as no short-waisted customers were open to the idea yet).

Sorry, no pics yet, I ordered two leather jackets from NAS to compare:

http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/ve.....et/3390531

and

http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/be.....te/3744365

The Bernardo is going back, but I'd recommend it for others to give a try. The shade of brown is not quite to my taste for some reason, but mostly the fit is not quite right. It's *almost* perfect. Leather is nice for the price point. Length is just right, fit in the chest and waist is perfect. Sleeves could be a little narrower, but they're passable. The problem is the neckline: it stands oddly up and away from my neck in the back -- in fact, there's a big gap. And it looks funny. It seems to suggest that the jacket is not wide enough in the shoulders, but the shoulders look like they fit just fine, and if I was to size up to the medium, it would be too big all over. I suppose I could take it to the tailor to see if she could adjust the fit, but since I'm not crazy about the color I'm going to take a pass.

Now for the Veda. The leather is amazing -- soft, supple, perfection! The fit in the shoulders and chest is perfection, like a glove. The sleeves are too long but cut narrow which I like. The problem is the length. I am on the fence here...

See how on the model -- in the rear view, the waist seam is set fairly high? And then the length is hitting at her high hip? The model must be 6'0 tall. Now, imagine on someone 5'0 tall....

On me, the waist seam is sitting right about where my belt sits for jeans, and the length is hits at the low hip instead. It looks more like a Boyfriend blazer length. Worn with jeans, I would have to wear heels or my legs look too short. Worn with a dress or skirt, especially midi length, I kind of like the look. It's not what I expected, but somehow it appeals. Though I am wondering if the length on me is a dated look? I dunno. It reminds me of leather blazers we used to wear in my 20s. DH has given it two thumbs up - he thinks it's just a different look, and would work well for business smart casual.

What I do know is that it'd probably be very expensive to shorten the length, because it would require shorter zippers, and undoing several seams to take them up.
