(Gently sobbing) The boots look.......(slight moan)......so nice on you!

I've decided I have to send my pair back, but my calves are 16" and I can't get pants into mine. Someone mentioned the leather band at the top. It's stunning, but it does cut into the top of my calf. These fit as I think they should on you. Wear them and keeps the toes toasty and dry!

Seriously, I love all on you. The jacket is very modern and practical, too. Yes, I know about the black, but I think you're still moving your style forward, and your current quilted jacket will still find use

Sorry to chime in late. I love it all, Pil! I adore the way you paired the white jeans in all of this too. Beautfully equestrian!

The boots fit really well! To my eye - flattering. That should answer your flour question

Pil, I laughed out loud at your question re the boots and the bag of flour. You are too funny!
The jacket is great - keep!
The boots do look a little snug in the calves, but I think it's because you are wearing them with high contrast options like the white jeans and your bare leg. I'm not sure I would pay as much attention if you were wearing jeans or black pants. I will be interested to hear what Angie says!

Also, thank you to YOU for being such a great part of the forum. I love how you have included us in all of the parts of your journey - hairstyle, glasses, K/R's - it's been just wonderful, Pil! Here's to YLF! xo

I vote keep for both the jacket and the boots. I think the new jacket is very different from the old one to justify owning two in the same color. I also have more than one coat in the same color and wear them equally. Varying lengths/textures help split up their use for me. The boots look like a real quality piece, nice fit on them, tall boots are a challenge for me to fit!

ETA: the ankles on the boots does not bother me, as Suz mentioned you need some room for bending when you move.

I love what Rachy said about the coat! Regency for the new millenia. No wonder I love it. I'm a Regency nutbar.

The buckling. Well, it could mean a couple of things. First off, ALL boots with a straight-ish shaft (i.e. riding style boots) will have some looseness in the ankle area or you could not move!!

But these ones have some stretch, so it's a bit of a different situation.

As I understand it, a whole lot of ankle slump could mean perhaps that the boot is too snug in the calf at the top to be pulled up all the way. Or maybe it's not pulled up all the way because it is too tall for the leg (so it collapses). Or perhaps that the ankle and calf isn't filling it out.

Kellygirl ordered last year's version of these boots and the forum consensus, with Angie's explanation, was that the boot was quite simply too tall for her.

Others had the same experience.

Shannon, who is the same height or shorter, got a sleeker fit.

It seems there can be different causes. Angie said that Kelly's shoe size is probably larger than Shannon's, so her boot shaft was correspondingly taller (too tall) and possibly wider, too.

But Una has a very tiny shoe size. The boots buckled on her as well. In her case, it is probably because she has super slender ankles and calves.

Are the boots comfy? They look good. As do the jackets. I would have tried it on if I knew it would look so good. You do look like you're ready to go riding. Regency for the New Millenia. Very cool.

Thank you all, it appears the coat is a winner!

I hope Angie can weigh in on the boots. Now that Thistle has pointed out the puckering, I wonder if that is an indication that they are too small?

Suz, I think we're the same height? 5'4". They are a bit snug around the calf, but my legs have to be bigger than yours. They measure 15" from the base of the heel to the top.

WOW. All I can say is keep that coat and send one to me, please!!

I hear you on the black, but this looks amazing on you. What a fantastic style. I am seriously tempted by it.

The boots look great, too. And we know from past experience with these that these boots are really wonderful all-weather performers.

This year's version has a band of plain leather at the top. Last year's was just woven to the top, if I am not mistaken. I have been wondering whether that would change the way they look, feel, or perform, and would be curious to hear Angie's thoughts.

I am going to try these, too.

Pil, can you please remind me how tall you are? I curious about the shaft height.

Do they feel okay, or too tight in the shaft? I wondered if the band across the top would make them tighter for those with more muscular calves.

All in all, I'd say you have sweated with good cause!!

Almost literally - Metro down jacket and Blondo boots for a pic in July! Add to that a heavy sweater and jeans for fit.

The white sweater and jeans are for contrast with the black pieces.

1. Metro down jacket. The double breasted buttons and wool cutaway placket in front make it different that the typical puffer. It also covers the seat in back, which was on my wants list for a new coat. The drawbacks are that it is black, which I didn't necessarily want, and it is similar to my VC quilted coat (#2) from last year. Being down and shorter I do see it being worn on different occasions that the VC. I'm holding my arms to the side in one pic so you can see that there is actually some curve/definition to the jacket.

3. Closer shot of the Blondo boots. They are snug, though I am able to zip over a pair of straight leg jeans here. For reference, these are an 8.5 and I wear an 8 shoe. My calves are 15" and the boot information says 14". I don't typically tuck pants in boots, but wanted to be able to if the urge strikes.

4. Another shot of the boots.

I am also quite thrilled about the Wacoal bras that were included in the NAS. Exactly the style I wanted more of and never on sale around here, so I bought two!
And, may I add another thank you to you all. While editing the photos and seeing my face stare back at me, I nearly became a tad verklempt at the improvement after new specs and updated haircut. The chins aren't going anywhere and I'll never be anything close to a 'handsome' woman, but I sure feel as if I look better than I used to :)

So my questions are:
Do the boots look like 10# flour in a 5# bag?
Is that jacket flattering enough given its puffer genes?

I'm actually leaning toward keep for both the jacket and boots, unless someone points out something that I have completely missed. Or the general consesus is that these items just don't "get me".

I ask you to please feel free to comment and critique.

Thanks!
