I do have to watch out for buying too many tweeds! But, they each have their own personality, she says.

You can't tell maybe from the photo, but its blackish and whitish and a tiny bit of beige. This works to soften it just a bit away from really clear, sharp B&W graphic which does not work as well for me.

Seconding the Nic & Zoe cardi. It's fantastic! Feels great on, is beautifully tailored, and totally does its job of "finishing" the oufit.

Ah. Yes. The lab coat. Makes sense.

Yeah. Return the dotted cardi and lets find you something more modern. Did you like this cardi? Good with pencil skirts and comes in 4 colours.

Also, this pullover is fun over a pencil skirt too.

Hi Angie!
I have not planned on the really long dramatic cardigans since the look is not good under a labcoat and they tend to be more "toppers" than an ordinary cardigan, which for me is kind of a warmth factor or added color/third piece, whereas a blazer or jacket would not work. This one does have a high-low hem, so is longer in back. I get a bit lost in the BF cardis because I don't have the shoulders to fill them out. For pants, since I don't wear heels, sometimes too long is shtumpifiying. For pencil skirts, there can be a cool longer length, whereas, these Halogen ones are too long for skirts, but not long enough to look like an "ensemble".

So perhaps I should be on the lookout for something a bit longer as more modern ? That would be fun. That's why I was thinking of keeping only the pink one due to how it fits in color palette right now and goes with lots of items, but not over-duplicating the style--always a bit pitfall for me. Any suggestions would be great! And, how to style them with trousers or skirts.

I am leaning toward returning the dots and being strong, not letting it grow roots! It all is part of not having so many things that can't wear them enough! The blush sweater is going to be versatile since can wear over so many colors, dark or light neutrals as well as berry "face colors" and quite a few prints I have, and serves as a topper for me, going from car to work.
Firecracker, I can see that sometimes a dot or patterned pullover is more versatile for me in the sense it can be part of FFBO, no other adornments needed, and less fussy than a cardigan over a shirt or top.

I am realizing looking at the photo of the sweater Firecracker posted that I am really picky about dot size and contrast -- too small and too high contrast, and I'm not a fan. Too big and they risk looking juvenile. I rather like the mid-size low-contrast dots in Firecracker's Find.

I like that tweedy skirt! Too bad the booties didn't work. I saw those dotted cardis, too, in person, and they are pretty, but I wonder about the versatility of the dots, too. I bought a polka dot cashmere pullover (dots are bigger and knitted in) with reservations, too. But I think I'll wear it. It's different for me.

Pretty skirt. I can understand your reservation about the dotted cardi -- I think a solid would be more versatile. Even a stripe...although that might be more expected. I'm not a big dot person though.

I can see why you would be unsure about the magenta topper. It's a great color, but I would struggle with the pattern also. Sometimes dots are a neutral pattern that mix easily, but I can also imagine them being a negative distraction.

Your choices seem well considered and sound like they will fit into your wardrobe nicely. I'm learning so much by reading how everyone is shopping NAS.

I tried several ankle boots below but they did not fit well-these Halogens and also a Munro (will try to add it)-Firecracker's Munro I think .
The Colette teal topper did not work as noted before--though it was drool-worthy.
Halogen pencil skirts: hit and misses.
I am keeping the tweedy one. However the more ponte-type knit was not skimming enough--was an almost. I was trying it in the dark camel. This experience goes along with how I find that I do better with thicker or textured fabrics than thin ones for pencil skirts, which can be a problem for suiting fabrics. The ponte knit might have worked in a dark color, which is less "revealing". The burgundy lace just did not fit well.

Still working on the Halogen cardi's as follows;
Keeping the blush in size M. It's a bit mauvier than most blushes, but not full-on pink, so I'm keeping it as a "strategic" color for transitioning seasons, as one of my "not white" pale neutrals to go with dark neutrals or other pale neutrals for a changeup.
The gray cardigan was blah. Perhaps just the wrong gray.
I'm on the fence for the magenta dot. The color is good for me, and the dot is fun, and it works with a kind of color capsule I've got going with mauvy-blush in some tops. OTOH I'm concerned if the dot is too limiting or wonder if it's the opposite, I may actually pattern-mix some with it.
Also am perplexed about sizing--the dot sizes I received seem to run a little bigger so I haven't had time to do try-on's for which size is best.
