Diana's idea of orange is similar to one I was going to suggest: I bought the sweater, and while I think it will play nicely with my lighter blue jeans, I was also considering the idea that it might work with my summer coral jacquard skirt (before the weather gets cold). Note, the skirt below is not mine (which must have sold out at AnnTaylor because I can't find it again.)

Oh yeah, and the plum skinnies.

I probably would not wear a shirt under the sweater because it might look bulky.

I have the navy one. I have not seen the light color one other than in the picture but what ruled it out for me was just thinking of washing the cuffs and trying to keep them looking bright and tidy. Not that I don't take care of my clothes but keeping the light colored sweater in its best condition would be harder.

I just got mine, in navy. I'm planning to pair it with medium wash jeans (like the color the model is wearing), my slightly faded black jeans, possibly my grey trousers, and black slouchy trousers. And I think it might be amazing with the new orange trousers I just bought. I've not tried it with skirts yet. I think it's a little too long on me for most of my skirts but it might work with, say, the VC tube skirt.

What I'm not planning on wearing it with is my dark wash blue jeans. I think that's too matchy for me.

Oh, and I don't plan to layer under it. I think I'll layer OVER it though - it's thin enough to fit under my blazers. I think it'll be fab with my grey and fuchsia blazers, and possibly also the white one.

I got the blue and I'm planning on wearing it with jeans, charcoal pants, skirts in plum and maybe burgundy, and possibly black pants, depending on how it looks. But I err on the All Dark Clothes, All the Time side, so I'm not sure if that really answers your concerns.

I could see a light shirt layered under it to break it up like on the model, if that's something you'd wear.

Ah I don't mean that it's bright, just that it has a lot of blue in it. No way to mistake it for black like with some navys. It's just a very rich navy, but definitely still dark.

To my eye, the navy is more like ink and not bright at all like the pic, so I respectfully disagree w/Suz and Aida. I consider the cream to be more feminine but it's not available in Petites anyway. I am planning to wear my sweater with denim, black, and pencil skirt colors that harmonize with the flowers.

Both should work really well. It looks like the navy is a bright navy, as Aida says -- so not like ink, more like "blue." I find taupe and blue work really well together, but taupe and cream are also lovely.

Maybe consider which one your heart yearns for the most? I do think you would look lovely in the cream. But the blue feels a little richer and more sophisticated to me for some reason. Angie has seen both in person -- maybe she will pop in.

Hmm well of course both would work, but I think I'd prefer the cream if you're pairing denim+taupe booties. The cream would give you a lighter more boho feel, and the navy would give you a moodier more romantic feel. Whichever of those sounds better to you

EDIT: Also, have to add that (I'm guessing) the white would be lower contrast which would bring more attention to the print, and the navy would be higher contrast which would bring more attention to your face.

Assuming I will wear a denim bottom which would work better with a taupe suede bootie 1 of 2 options shown below) keeping in mind my hair and complexion? (pasty white haha)

Or let me guess - either one?! Guess I should just decide already.

The navy on the sweater isn't a very dark navy, it's vey clearly a dark blue if that makes sense. I haven't seen the light one in person or I could give you more advice on its coloring, hopefully someone here bought it and can let us k know if it skews more cream, off-white, or white.

EDIT: And yes, as you said the floral breaks up the dark quite a bit. It's actually quite a cheerfully moody little thing ^^

Ha, Aida ... So basically you've confirmed I can't go wrong with either version.

For some reason I have it in my head that the darker version will become an orphan. I had a deep purple/eggplant top last F/W that I paired with a black bottom and it always felt way too dark. I'm sure with the floral to break up the darkness and brighten it up, even the dark version would be fine. I think it is just me being wishy washy. I worry about the lighter one with my complexion and hair so there you go. Sigh. Cursed with indecision.

I had my eye on the lighter version initially, but ended up with the darker because it's much more unique among my tops (I have, and wear, lots of white and cream) and I had really wanted a dark floral sweater for this season. The navy is a very rich shade with a lot of blue in it, quite pretty. It is lightweight, so if that's a requirement for you it should work well; I don't know that I'd wear this in the dead of winter, even here in the PNW which has milder winters.

Personally I'd style it on its own, unlayered, even though the model shows it layered. If you wear a lot of blue and a lot of dark, the navy will work quite nicely with your dark bottoms. If you have been wanting to lighten up, then the cream would look quite lovely with denim and black bottoms but not be quite as light as an unprinted white or cream sweater.

For those of you that have the NAS floral sweater (collected below in finds) how are you styling it? I'm debating buying it but am not sure which color would serve me better. I wear a lot of dark bottoms (black and denim mostly) and feel the dark blue, though pretty, might end up reading too dark with my jeans (Kut BFs from Rack similar to Katherines, darker than the model's jeans). Thoughts? Anyone have the lighter version? I do have a dark blue button down I could style it with when layers are called for.

Related to my earlier post - I have only one sweater so sweaters seem to be a wardrobe Grand Canyon for me. As long as they're lightweight enough to get wear they should prove valuable.
