Ooh, I can't wait to try the cheetah print DVF wrap dress! I am planning to wait until my appointment Monday morning and have the sales associate order it for me. I'm hoping she will have some more insight as to the sizing, or that there will be another Jeanne 2 dress in the store that I can try on for size so I don't have to order two sizes. We'll see, though.

I wish I could have seen the wrap on you, Vix. From the photos of you in these dresses (you look phenomenal BTW), I don't see why it wouldn't have looked beautiful on you.

Thanks, Angie; I'm not surprised your clients were looking good in so many of these!

Had you seen me in the DVF python you might have been reduced to tears as well. Too bad they would have been the wrong kind of 'em! ;)

Hoping Ana and Zap have better luck with their wraps....

#4, #8 and #9 made my top picks list. You look KILLER in #4!!! WOW.

Both DVF wrap dresses have made my list actually. They are *knock out*. I was virtually reduced to tears when my clients tried them on.

Yea for the weekend and a little time; sorry I couldn't respond to everyone earlier. Glad I could give a bit more context to the online descriptions or help aid the wading through!

Zap and Coco, thank you.

Zap, the other NAS DVF I tried on was ~ knee length; hope the Cheetah works for you and Ana.

Ms Coco, you know I love you in warm lights and brights like that stunning coral number you wore to the wedding, so I'm going to be hard-pressed to rec the Steffe for you. I think it's just too deep a blue/purple and that a more electric blue would work better.

Tomato red, warm violets, corals, brighter blues or the navy you mentioned seem a better bet. I don't suppose any of the below appeal -- in terms of color if nothing else?

http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/ha.....gin=catego

http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/cl.....category-p

Noticed C Steffe has version of the blue dress in bright red at full price, not sure if it's the same length given lack of details:

http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/cy.....origin=cat

A non-budget friendly pre-order, but I skipped the coral items ($900 and 2K)
http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/je.....=category-

Me again, with bad photos grabbed when I got home. [Shot with flash and low light -- the cool blue shade is deeper/darker IRL.]

Here's my tags-on #2, the C. Steffe -- which will be going back if Alterations re-thinks their ability to alter to a V-neck (or deep scoop) in addition to letting the hem out. The combo of high-neck + short sleeve is one have repeatedly tried and failed to appreciate on my frame.

-- Length on mine is 34" -- site says 36" for size 8. I measured more precisely and there is a 1 1/8" hem, too. Ditto rec above to try to get more info about the length and hem depth in various sizes if concerned.

-- Note I'm short-waisted, which creates extra fabric at back with all dresses. The details on this make it tough (impossible?) to alter, so I won't be going there. Beware if you share the same and are picky about the back view. Being long-waisted could throw off where the detailing hits, too.

-- I think this dress would work better on someone with curvier hips than me...I don't quite fill it out, and it does have a nice firm stretch to it.

ETA: Antje, did you get to try this? Anything to add?

Vix the b/w dress is stunning on you! I wasn't in the market for a new dress but I've had it in my mind to replace my Black Halo Jackie O LBD and get a LND (little navy dress) as black is not a great color on me. Navy is just that much better and a rather classic color. Thus #2 is tempting me. Do you think that shade of navy/purple would work on me or would you steer me in another direction like coral? I need dresses to wear to the opera; I'm going in September and November. It doesn't have to be formal dress, just one that I can dress up with my Mother's borrowed gems. ;-)

Hi Suz, Sveta, and Ceit --

Thanks for the generous compliments! I tossed a few sweaters and blazers over it the other night (almost melted) and can tell it will quickly be a fav. Esp when it's boot weather again.

Glad you think the length works proportionally...gives me ability to wear as-is and assess going to mid-kneecap for a bit more elegance. (I wear hemlines at a few points, and this works for sitting, public transport, etc.)

TBH the deep blue Steffe one will be about this length when it's let down IIRC. Will try to update stats on that one ASAP in case others are on the fence about trying it.

Vix, this dress is truly breathtaking on you! As for the length - what Suz said sums prety much what I think However I usually can wear my dreses to work shorter with opaque tights comparing to bare legs so if this is how you coing to wear it you may be fine.

It looks gorgeous on you, Vix! Absolutely stunning!

I like it at this length, but try the sit test.

I have a dress this length, and I still think it looks good. I think the overall proportion is nice for people of our height.

But I'm not as comfortable sitting in it as I might be. In my case it is okay, because I'm not wearing it at work. It's mainly a "going out with Mr. Suz" dress, so I let it be. But if I were wearing it for business wear, I might want to let down a fraction. YMMV.

Hi again all --

Sorry another post and run as I tried to grab pics of the Camuto on me this am since I know this is a time-sensitive sale (pardon unstyled/wet hair/tags on -- though the final result won't be much different, ha!)

Some notes -- the length on mine is 36" by my back-to-hem technique -- site says ** 39" ** for size 8. I measured more precisely and there is a 1.75" hem, too. So anyone concerned should try to get more info about the length and hem depth in their size.

Speaking of hems -- I wear this length and Alterations thought it was fine. But since the room is there, any preferences for lower? I'll be wearing it more with black tights than bare legs soon.

Thanks for the summary - I would totally have fallen for #1, but I'm not keen on flimsy fabrics. I love #2, and I'm so glad you got it! It's funny, but I had the same thought, that it should have a v-neck. Post pictures once you get your alterations done, so we can all admire

Hi all, glad to help a bit. Pardon brevity, on phone. Will just try to answer questions for now.

MNSara, I can get back to you re cost. Wanted to try dress with closet stuff before committing. Alterations said it was do-able and IME they are straight shooters. Even new card members get 100 credit toward alt fees IIRC.

Cjh -- I was thinking same thing re taller types but do measure a fav dress and compare back length to posted measurements. then add hem let-down. good luck!

Ana -- lucky you, the b/w print is gorgeous. I'm not much help as I've never tried her wraps til now. I ended up with designer size being best fit and got to try "normal" (1 down) + 1 over designer. But lack of hips/rear means wrap covered about 3/4 way underneath. I think you may want 2 sizes, sorry (I was glad to return 1, then the other fast!).

Thank you so much for this review! Right now, I've only committed to buying underwear, but I'm eyeing that DVF wrap dress in ivory with the black cheetah spots. I've wanted one of her wrap dresses for so long and I LOVE the black and white cheetah. May I ask, how is the sizing? I know her wrap dresses in particular run about a size smaller than the rest of her line. I wear a 6 in the rest of her line, but the wrap dress I tried of hers that was a 6 was too small. They don't have this dress in my local store and I'd love to avoid having to order two sizes since that's a lot of money to put on hold for me. :)

Thank you!

Wow, love the reviews and details on the fits, lengths. Thanks, Vix!

I like all the dresses pictured. I suspect that 7 may work for me as I have another one by this maker, fits like it was tailor-made. But that being said, I feel they are all too short. Boohoo! I am 5'7" and you are 3" shorter reporting they all hit at least 1-3 in. above your knee.

This is so helpful, Vix! I too was considering the DVF dresses but I just can't quite justify another wrap dress in my closet. #9 might be headed my way, though...must check out Sylvie's thread on it.

Gosh, but I love your analyses! I'm the opposite body shape (less bosom, more hip and junk), so I'm going to be checking into #7. Adrianne Pappell understands my shape ;-)

Your chosen dress is fab! I might have to try that too - just to be sure. I'l be interested in how your V-neck creation turns out. Nordies is doing that? Do you remember what they charge for that sort of work? because that sounds like something I'd be thinking (...if this just came in a V-neck. . .)

I appreciate the dress help. For some reason my eyes glaze over in that department and I just walk away. . .

Thanks for the thoughtful and considered fit notes. I can vouch for the comfort of #9 (pic in my NAS thread) and now I'm going to take a closer look at #10 as well.

Great point, Janet; thanks.

I actually tried 2 sizes in that one and indigo (2/3) and had alterations weigh in as to fit to make sure I wasn't erring either way (too snug/too loose). If ordering online I'd def suck it up and try multiple sizes.
