I am very biased about ponchos, just warning you (I adore them). So of course, I like the poncho on you! It drapes well and isn't too bulky. And those oxfords, are a no brainer, they are seamless paired with those grey jeans. Really extends the leg line. Nice finds.

Wow. All these pieces are stellar. 11 out of 10. You did really well, Windchime. You carry off the poncho with panache.

YES. I known what you mean about the edges of the poncho. They're fine if you're after a more casual poncho look.

I think you should keep both - they look great!

I'd be concerned about reinforcing a knit. Sometimes the edges go warpy if you add reinforcement or stitching? But I'm not an expert. Maybe just reinforce the neckline if you are worried?

I really love the poncho on you, and the shoes look equally great. The poncho seems like a no-brainer for your lifestyle/ climate.

I love the poncho, as well as the shoes. The model doesn't look half as good as you in the pincho.

I like both a lot! The whole outfit is so pretty on you, casually elegant. Knits typically don't fray, so I wouldn't worry about the edges getting raggedy--though if you don't like the look of them, that's another matter. I often leave my knit fabrics raw-edged at the hems, with just a line of some type of stitching next to the edge to make it look intentional.

Both the poncho and the shoes look great to me. Not sure about the poncho finish and whether it is worth the investment.

Joy--my cute, young niece cuts my hair (she works in a nice salon.) Funny, she has really encouraged me to let my hair be grey, but she doesn't "let" her mom go grey! Her mom's original color is much lighter than mine, and my niece thinks her hair looks best with the grey covered.

First I love your hair! Such a cute spunky cut and gorgeous color.
I saw the poncho and, over the color and thick softness, but don't live in a climate where poncho use would be limited.
The whole outfit looks like it will be great for fall.

Carter--I just looked at the poncho edges again. I'm wondering now if the edges are maybe reinforced on the inside? The only place that has me a little concerned is the back of the neck--it seems there should somehow be sturdier reinforcement there.

Yeah, it was love at first try on with those grey oxfords!

I ordered the poncho too. It's definitely a keeper for me, but I should go look at the edges. I didn't notice any issue before. Aside from the colors, the thing I like best about the poncho is the ability to layer over sweaters. I get straight-jacket claustrophobic if I try to wear a regular coat over a sweater. I think it looks great on you--especially loving the gray side. Please do let us know if you decide something needs to be done to the edges.

I'm crazy about the shoes on you! It's all I can do not to order them myself, but lace-up shoes languish in my closet. Keep, for sure!

The first of a few orders arrived (I've never ordered so much clothing in one week but am taking advantage of the free shipping and returns to use my home as my dressing room.)

The first thing that caught my eye when looking through the sale was the Vince Camuto reversible poncho. I've not owned a poncho since about 1st grade (it was brown and yellow plaid, with matching pants, and I adored it). On my monitor, it looks a bit blue tinted; in real life it's definitely black and grey. It's soft and comfortable and warm; I can imagine how nice it will be to wrap up in when the weather turns cooler. Do you think the fit and style work for me? My only concern is that the edges don't feel well finished off--our YLF seamstresses would have the right terminology for it--I'm concerned that they don't fray from use. If I keep it, I may take it to my tailor to see if she can reinforce the edges.

The second item here is the Cole Haan perforated oxfords in grey. They are incredibly light and seem super comfortable--they will probably come along to NYC in August. I'm wearing them with grey jeans which I picked up last month from the Long Tall Sally store near Detroit. I'm thinking that with the jeans, the poncho, the perforated oxfords, and a few other items I already have, I can put together a casual capsule for the fall.

Anyway, the oxfords are almost certainly a keep. I'd be interested in your opinions about the poncho--both the issue with the finish (or lack of it) and how you think it fits and looks.

I hope to post more NAS results in the next few days.
