Rachylou they come in brown too. The black is actually dark grey. I think they call it black goat.

I don't think the gap is a show stopper. They're really beautiful. Did I pin those? Must pin.

I don't think the gap is too wide. I would definitely wear them like that with pants and with skirts/dresses. BUT the dampness thing would drive me crazy, so I actually wouldn't wear them at all. I'm voting return.

I like the fit too, but wouldn't keep them given the problem you noticed with the PVC lining. You don't need damp feet

IMO they fit well, the gap won't bother me at all even with the skirts.
Nice booties - too bad PVC inside. I would pass on them if they make my socks damp...

Those are gorgeous booties and look as if they would work well for your Emmanuelle Alt inspired style shift. I do think the gap is a bit wide for wearing with dresses, but would you also wear tights with them (if wearing with a dress)? If so, try how that looks -- it might not be as noticeable or bothersome.

I can't wear PVC shoes at all. Blisters!!!

I returned the SE Louie because it isn't what I really wanted. I just bought it because the taupe pair I own are comfortable. I didn't want suede because I need something for rainy days & I didn't want more fringe. I bought these Franco Sarto ones instead. I'm not sure whether to keep. Is the gap too big around the ankle? It is the smallest gap of all the NAS booties that are not suede I think. If there are any others they don't work for another reason. I loved the Vince ones but they were narrow & not soft like these. They are PVC lined & when I took them off after wearing in front of tv last night to see if they start to hurt sitting my feet & socks were damp. I know some people wear boots that are 100% PVC. Does this happen to you? Do they get smelly or hot or uncomfortable? I've never had smelly feet but I used to only buy leather lined footwear. Lately I've been willing to buy cheaper shoes as long as they are comfortable. It is so hard to find the right bootie.
