Thanks, everyone. Sadly, my billing cycle closed yesterday so I wasn't able to change the billing cycle. I will just have to cross my fingers and hope that my NAS orders all arrive in the next two weeks so that I can return whatever doesn't work by the 1st. I didn't realize that items returned before my payment is due could be credited to that payment. I appreciate your wisdom!

Now, if anyone wants to know about PS sized leather jackets, I'm your gal to ask!

I would call customer service to verify this, but I have had this happen to me and the returns, as long as they were within the next billing cycle, counted towards my "payment".

So, say, I order the items now, my billing cycle ends on the 15th, and I return them on the 30th before my payment is due on the 15th of next month. The returns on the 30th count towards the total bill.

Now this may work for me as I don;t carry a balance on the card at all, hence why I recommend calling customer service to verify.

I feel your pain. So few things that I'm interested in are ever available at my store that I just order. My card is a debit card so I just hold my breath until I get all my returns done and hope DH doesn't look before hand and think I've lost my mind! It sounds like some of the others have good suggestions. I hope you can get your billing cycle changed.

I've had this happen with shopping before, I order and get socked from all of it one month, then return a large amount and end up with a statement credit the next month.

That's so annoying. Most of the things I'm interested are not available at my Nordstrom store either, and it doesn't help with the billing cycle that their free shipping takes so l-o-o-o-o-n-g. I hope this works out for you and you can either get a check mailed to you for your credit, or get your card company to extend your billing cycle.

If I understand you right, Donna, you are saying that the credit will be on your credit card, after you return all the stuff. I would call customer service at the credit card and ask them if you can get a check issued instead of carrying a credit. I have had it happen where if I carry a credit on a credit card for more than one billing cycle—without making any new purchases—a check is automatically issued to me. So perhaps the creditor would issue you a check on request rather than require you to wait.

Others can answer this better, but I think you can get a check instead of all that store credit. I have the same situation with my store not having most of what I want.

The cost is not carrying across a credit card billing cycle is it? Will you have to pay interest? ):

Argh!!! I'm planning to buy a leather jacket at NAS. The ones I'm interested in (all Petites) are not available in my local stores. This means ordering a quite a few online, plus a number of booties not available locally either. I will only buy one jacket and one pair of booties. Because of my billing cycle, I will have to pay for it all ($1,600 + other NAS stuff) and then have $1,200+ in credit the following month.
