While my left foot is a teeny bit bigger than my right, it is never an issue with shoes. But with these boots the right fits perfectly while my toes hit the end on the left, AND my left heel lifts up - so it feels as though the left boot is both too large and too small at the same time.</p> <p>Still and all, I did order a size up because I do like them. The leather is a little lighter weight than it ought to be, but the quality is middle-of-the-road like Sam Edelman or Steve Madden, IMO. Oh, and the size they list as a 9.5 is a 40. I find it annoying that they didn't list that online because my normal European size is a 40 (at least in designer shoes - often a 39 in non-designer shoes). The description says it runs small, so because I normally wear between an 8-1/2 and a 9 I should probably order the 9-1/2?&nbsp;</p> <p>I am just looking for a real-life review, since the site has none yet. How small do they run? Are they decent quality? For those who have not tried them, are they hopelessly out of style? Too tough for a 40-something? Any opinions?</p>
