I also tried and returned the ruffle sweater. It looked so darn cute on Colette. It had a trifecta of strikes against it, even though I prefer a lighter sweater. I am taller and broad shouldered, but it was too wide in the neckline and showed my bra straps (know from the past that bugs me), it was long in the arms in a way that would keep tumbling down, and it was unflattering at the bra line in back. Maybe that ones my fault, but the clothes have to help, not hurt that one.

Oh. I love the way you refined your choices, Susie, and found items that included the characteristics of the sale items you loved, without the problems you noted for you in those items. That's really clever.

I returned this spanks legging too. I found them really comfortable but they did a really weird pulling/rippling at the back of my thighs even when I sized up. So no. I did keep the Halogen ponte leggings which are nice and thick.

Suz, you are more wise than I, because I tried them when I should have known I wouldn't like the feel of any of these! But my returns are much less costly than yours. I just had to be embarrassed by all the boxes I was returning at the post office yesterday!

Here are some others that got packed up to return:

MK trench coat- I ordered this in red and Angie's recommendation was spot on. It fit well and is nicely made. But it's too ALGO for me and I will search for something a bit more minimal.

Vince mesh overlay top- this is a really cool top but while shopping at Dillards on Saturday, I found the other black top I have in finds. It's got great texture that is a bit 'quieter' than the Vince top. And the slightly lower neckline was more flattering. So while I like it, the other works better for me.

Kate Spade burgundy suede jacket- this is beautiful; well made and the color is lovely. But it didn't thrill me enough to justify the price.

AGL ballet flats (gray)- pretty comfortable and I liked the look of the leather and the studs add an edge to a classic style but I still didn't care for the look of a ballet flat on my foot. I prefer pointy toes and/or a higher vamp. But I need a black flat so I added this buckled t-strap from Corso Como and they are just as comfortable and much more me.

Susie, it sounds like our preferences for fabrications and fit might be similar, which doesn't surprise me because I think there are similarities in our other style preferences as well.

I was VERY tempted by both those sweaters but read what Angie said about fabrication and knew they would feel too insubstantial for my climate, so didn't bother to order.

As for leather leggings, yeah. I can't manage leggings, period (I have one pair and wear only rarely) because I don't like how my legs look in them. But leather would only exacerbate that. I would love a pair of leather look jeans, but that's different.

I ended up with numerous orders and I've received and tried almost everything, with the exception of a jacket and a pair of boots I am still waiting on. I've already returned the things that I am sure I am not keeping.

Here are some of the things that were nice but a miss for me:

Chelsea ruffle hem sweater- cute shape and a nice fit but the weight was a bit too light/sheer for me.

Halogen lace sweater- very pretty and I loved the black lace with the ink. But again the fabric is pretty lightweight which I didn't love and the banded bottom wasn't very flattering.

Spanx faux leather leggings- um, no, still not for me...I would like to have leather pants but I would prefer a slim jean instead of the leggings.

More to come...
