I picked up the grey boots yesterday. They look much nicer in person and they seem comfortable. I had to size down 1/2 size, I'm normally a 7 1/2 - 8 and I needed the 7.

Chuckling at the staging area! Heaven forbid we should ever have house guests in July! I finally uncovered the guest room bed yesterday as I sorted and packed up my returns. However, it will get ugly in there again today as I purge my closet to make some breathing room for my new things:-)

It's good to have misses for the sake of that credit card, Susie.

Hope the burgundy jeans work in a larger size.

I understand what you mean about having to have a staging area.

I ended up keeping the Kut from the Kloth ponte pants in black and in gray. I love them and chose these over the Ski pants. My decision was based purely on length. I always opt for longer lengths.

I am right there with you! Too often in the past I would convince myself that I needed it or the fit was fine or that I loved it when maybe I didn't. This time I am really looking for reasons to say no. I love that I am now more picky and won't keep things that aren't just right.

I don't like baggy legs in jeans but I also don't like them too tight and the wine were just too snug all over. A size up might not work either but I liked them enough to give it a try. What's one more box?!

I have the NYDJ ponte points on order. I love the KUTs so now I'm really curious to see how I'm going to like them in comparison. I'm hesitant because they don't have back pockets. They say the NYDJ skinny in wine stretches with wear - are they still too tight for you? Just curious in case I decide to order. If you're like me returns are somewhat of a relief as I almost go way over my budget when ordering!!

I am grateful to have a spare bedroom that can hold all of the boxes I've got stacked! I already have one big box filled with returns and will be packing up more items this weekend.

Here are a few things that didn't work and will be going back (some I have already mentioned on other threads):

Lafayette olive coat- I ordered both a L and a M (I almost never can wear a medium) and the M is still big all over. I didn't love it enough to go down another size so this is going back.

Donald Pliner grey boots- These are beautiful...I love the color and the texture of the leather. And the heel height is nice. They were snug in the width in my regular size but a half size up would probably fit well. I do really want a pair of grey or taupe boots but I would like to find one that is a bit less casual. Grey leather is tough to find and I do like suede so I am trying this one:

http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/iv.....eSearchPro...

KUT Diana ponte knit- I prefer the fit and the fabric of the NYDJ Ski pant so I am keeping that one instead.

NYDJ skinny in wine- I often have to size down in NYDJ and I did with the first pair I ordered. They were a bit tight all over so I re-ordered these in my regular size. The color is lovely for fall and the fabric is very soft so I hope the larger size works.

NYDJ leggings- not a good fit for me as they had a puckering, bagginess at the thigh (probably due to my apple shape, pants are often too big in the leg when they fit in the waist. )

Curio colorblock poncho- the wide neckline didn't work for me as I just couldn't get it to lay right. Fun sweater though in a nice color combination (the back includes a big block of olive).

NYDJ ponte bootcut (1st photo)- I had high hopes for these but didn't like the fit at all. And I didn't care for the faux zippers and pockets.

Paige bootcut jeans (photo 2 and 3)- I was thrilled to find bootcut jeans in petite and I tried two styles, the Skyline and the Transcend Hidden Hills, but neither was a perfect fit and the fabric was more stretchy/thin than I like. I am going to stick with the pair I have for now, from WHBM. They are a bit big at the waist but the denim is substantial, which I prefer.

NYDJ 'Clarissa' colored stretch ankle skinny jeans (photo 4)- I got these in "bluebonnet." When I took them out of the package, I was thrilled with the color, a perfect shade of light blue. But the fit was very "Mom jeans" on me. I couldn't get them off fast enough!

So, a lot that didn't work but still quite a few things that I am planning to keep. And I am waiting on a few things yet, plus some other things at home that I need to evaluate, including the Lafayette ink pants and jacket. I will try to post pics tomorrow.
