Your keepers look FABULOUS. I hope the boots ease up and prove comfortable. I have high and sensitive insteps, so I understand that uncomfortable pressure - even worse if it’s an old injury.

Zella used to be such a mainstay for me, and I’m really disappointed in their overall quality now - there’s less of a distinction in quality with Zella vs. their Nordstrom Rack Z by Zella brand (if the latter is still around - when it first came out I was surprised at the difference.) These days when I buy Zella, I’m actually seeking out the older stuff on secondhand markets - it lasts longer even if it’s previously been worn!

I love that black jacket—very Charlize Theron. I would also be disappointed if it didn’t work.

Very late to this, but I’ve reach that point where I’m not sure it’s possible to have to many sneakers. I find myself reaching for them every day, my other shoes are feeling left out.
Hoping those black and white boots were, they are really sharp looking. I ended up ordering them in the cognac…still debating if I’m keeping (see comment on sneakers)l but I’m pretty impressed with the quality given the price.

I hope the boots work out, they are very unique. Sneakers, hoodies, and warm winter coats are right up my alley so I’m glad they worked out for you!

Great pieces, Janet! I'm glad you had a good ratio of keepers, they're all fab. Looking forward to your styling session photos.
When I saw the Zella jacket in your purchases I liked the look of it but I didn't order it because the sleeves looked tight and you just confirmed it. Too bad, it's a really cool jacket.

Good job, Janet! It is too bad about the Zella jacket, but at least the keep/return decision is easy when you put it on and immediately think: Nope!

Glad you are keeping the sneakers, they are fab. I have some grey sneakers and it is surprising at how they just seem to go with everything and are especially good with denim.

The hoodie will be a nice match for your burgundy sneakers from Paris!

Thanks, all! Sorry no pics yet, but I’ll get some eventually. Still fighting the good fight to get back on east coast US time!

I did wear the boots around the house for a little bit yesterday and they seemed to ease up some, but I want to test them further. I have a little trouble with pressure on the top of my left foot (my larger foot, with an old broken bone injury in the instep) and want to be sure I won’t be uncomfortable! I can even feel the pressure in sneakers after a day of 6+ miles of walking or being on my feet, but that’s not super common (just top of mind since that was the norm while on vacation!). I do want my day-to-day footwear to carry me through a typical 10k+ step day!

YAY! You had a fab NAS! And welcome back. Bet Sunny and Woody are elated :)

Those boots are SOOOO JANET! I can see you rock them.

Sneakers are THE shoe of our era. Good job getting three extra pairs! The grey ones here are fab with your new salty locks. Of course you should keep them!

Yeah. I had that Zella jacket on some clients. Toooooooo tight.

Blank Noir items are really well made! Glad you got this fab topper.

And hoodies can work really well. We're allowed a few ;)

Hi all! It was a fabulous trip to Europe for us, but after 28 days (!!) we are very happy to be home in our own beds, with our doggies!

I’m unpacking and laundrying today, and just got the chance to open the box from Nordstrom. Here are my notes:

1. Dolce Vita black and white western booties. They look fab! I like the way they flash the white when I sit down wearing full length wide leg jeans, but I’ll have to try a session with some crops and boyfriends too, to see how they look styles that way. The larger concern is a slight bit of stiffness across the instep. I’m wearing them around the house a bit to see if it seems to ease or not. If the issue remains, I’ll return them, which would be a shame. I like the black and white mix a lot. Just enough white to be a spot of interest without screaming “white footwear” (just my personal preference).

2. Zella black jacket. Big disappointment. Sleeves sticky and snug (hard to pull on over a sleeved top), and one of the snaps pulled out of the fabric right away. Not great quality. Returning.

3. Rag & Bone sneakers. I was almost hoping these wouldn’t work, because I gained not one but two pairs of sneakers in Paris. (Yeah, I know, who goes to Paris and gets sneakers? Apparently me! But more on that in a separate post.) But they are very comfortable and a great fit straight out of the box. I’ve been eyeing them since last year’s NAS in both the blue and the grey, and the grey feels like a nice alternative to my white or black or silver sneakers. It also goes great with my favorite handbag (the grey Bao Bao backpack). So I’m inclined to keep. I do wear my sneakers!

4. Blanc Noir white jacket. Surprisingly warm and super well made! I wasn’t expecting it to be so substantial but it’s really nice. It’s roomier and longer on me than the model photo, but this is a winter jacket for sure. So it’s good to have room for a couple of layers underneath. Hubs likes it too. So I’m inclined to keep it. Really good piece for the price point!

5. On hoodie. Ok, I don’t really need another hoodie, but this is another very quality piece, with excellent details (the drawstring holder, the zips at the hem!), and I get a LOT of wear out of my hoodies so they tend to be good buys. The burgundy is a little browner than my favorite shade, but when all the other details are as right as they are on this piece, I’ll accept a shade that’s a little off my ideal. It’s a bit oversized but I like that in a hoodie. Fabric is more like a performance piece than a cotton, but I’m good with that too. Keeper.

So, it looks like three keepers with a possibility of a fourth. Not a bad sale at all, and a very good ratio for what I ordered (3/5 or 4/5!).
