The Frye Julia's are the best fit for my 13" calves, but it's a 3" heel. I also have the Timberland Strathams and like those though they are looser around the ankle.

I'm still hunting for a dressy, heeled, tall black boot, but might end up having Nordstrom alter my Cole Haan Courtney's instead.

Ooops...I forgot this thread was about boots that actually fit....sorry! I guess I'll leave this post just in case. :)

Shopping for boots with narrow calves is a problem indeed! I almost bought a pair from DuoBoots but am holding off...with the return shipping and possibly custom fees, some people have paid over $100 just to try theirs on!

I am looking for a brown pair of classic riding boots, <$300 with a 1 or 1 1/2 inch heel for a 7 1/2 foots size and a 12" calf with narrow ankles and feet and a max height of 14.5 inches...possibly 15...not easy!

I did just come across these $100 Aerosoles and thought I'd share for anyone looking for a bit of a heel:
Shaft Height: 14"
Shaft Circumference: 13" (Can stretch 3/4")
Heel Height: 2 1/4"
Colors: Black or Brown
http://www.aerosoles.com/eng/p...../with-love

From Zappos, here is a link to narrow circumference boots...if these listings are accurate, that is! http://www.zappos.com/women-bo.....tyle/desc/

There are some at Zappos that I may try out...even though they're not quite narrow enough! I don't mind a small gap so long as it's under 1/2 inch. I see a lot of people doing this, and I don't think it looks bad.

Any other narrow calf boot finds?

The Sanzie suede boots I got from Endless are waterproof suede and a perfect fit for my 12.5 inch calves:

http://www.endless.com/s/ref=t.....geCode%3Dd

I can wear them with skirts or over skinnies because they have some kind of built-in stretch factor though you can't see it...

These are the Aerosoles I found but mine are dark brown. Also they were only $26.00 at Ross. http://www.aerosoles.com/product1.asp?P=LASTICITY

These are the Target boots: http://www.target.com/p/Women-.....A-13385790. They definitely feel cheap and plasticy although I think they look okay when on. I would have preferred something higher quality, but they were exactly what I was looking for - black, sleek, not too high of a heel, rounded toe.

I finally found a pair that fit last year, the Franco Sarto Panko in cognac from Macy's. In addition to narrow calves, I need something with less than a 2 in heel. Liked them so much, I bought another pair in black this year. They are almost identical to the Panko but they are called something different this year.

Natalie, I forgot to mention that I also have the Ecco Hobart boots that you listed above. Nordstroms did exactly as you suggested and put extra holes in the buckles for me to snug them up against my calves. You are right in that they are not the sleekest option. I think they are meant for wider calves, but they can be made to work for slimmer calves, especially when worn with jeans.
http://www.zappos.com/ecco-hob.....0QHbw_GKDg

I've never posted before, but here goes. I have a size 7.5 AAAA foot and 12" calves, so it was very hard to find boots that fit. I've found that Munro makes good boots that fit both my feet and calves. I have the Munro Samantha and Munro Sophia boots and will soon order the Alita boots. The first two are more dressy boots, but the Alita is a more casual pair.

Calf circumference: 13.75 inches
Height: 5'3" with the legs of a 5'7" woman.
Shoe size: 8.5W (size up to 9 sometimes)
Max shaft height: 16"

Aquatalia Umph:
Shaft height: 16"
Shaft circumference: 13.5"
Heel: 1.25"
These fit perfectly over jeans but are still baggy around the ankle.

Fluevog Cutie Pie
Shaft height: 13"
Shaft circumference: 13"
Heel: 3"
Too tight for jeans and they had to stretch out a little to fit over tights and bare legs, so now they are perfectly fitted to my leg.

Fluevog Bondgirl:
Shaft height: 15"
Shaft circumference: 14"
Heel: 1.5"
Fits over jeans comfortably. Significant gap with leggings/tights/bare legs. I'm ok with it but the resulting outfit always looks more casual/rugged.

Eject boots (no longer available).
I don't have dimensons on these but they fit at the calf and the ankle, over both jeans and tights.

Wow. My calf measurement is a scant 12" at the widest point. Everything I try on just flaps around horribly. I'm keeing my eye on this post! :)

Oh, and I can't believe the prices they are charging for boots that aren't even leather! I've had leather boots that are lined with vinyl and they are just as sweaty as the full-on synthetic boots. What is THAT about?!! (Sorry about the rant....)

Sara L, you shouldn't be embarrassed at all, you should be proud! I wish I was lucky enough to find inexpensive narrow calf boots! As Angie mentioned, the narrow calf options tend to be very expensive. Do you have a link to the Target boot and Aerosole boot or know what models they are?

Marie, hope the Riwanas work out better for you. I also had the Me Too Dee in my cart--let me know how they fit if you do try them. I ended up ordering a Me Too Dalia from Endless (Zappos is cheaper but they didn't have my size) so I'll report back after I get them.

Laura B--great that you found some Frye Melissa twins that work for you! I wish they had my size but looks like all they have is size 12. And you're right, I think they would be too tall for me.

Kate, I'm glad you got the Stratham Heights too!

Kyle, are the 5050's knee high? I always thought they were over the knee. How tall are you?

Angie, you are right on. I am so bummed about the high price points for narrow calf boots. We could buy normal size boots and stuff them with cash to fill out the calves and still have money left over, LOL! I have a hard time stomaching paying over $500 for boots (even with the $400 Melissas I am agonizing over them). I have a pair of the Doc Martens 20 eye on order ($150 at Nordstrom) so I hope those might work instead but I'm wondering if it will be too rough/heavy for my frame. The Melissa lace-ups are relatively plain and sleek for flat lace-up boots so I feel like I could almost get away with wearing them. Have you done any posts with you wearing the Docs? Are they ladylike enough or do you feel like a biker chick clomping around in them? :)

Debora, those Undys look fabulous. Wish they would go on sale again. The Aerosoles look like great heeled options!

Mo, so awesome that you've been able to find inexpensive options!

Andrea, I think I've found my YLF body double! Even down to the shoes, wow! I would love to swap clothes and shoes with you! (Thanks again for taking that purple dress! I love it on you!) I wonder if anyone around here has ever done clothes lending rotations to change things up just for a few months? Most of my wardrobe I only bought in the last few months so it's too early to be getting rid of it, and I'm sure you probably don't want my old pre-YLF stuff. But your wardrobe looks awesome...all that All Saints stuff looks fascinatingly beautiful! I'd love to try those sometime for a whole new look!

I forgot to link my recent thread where I tried on a bunch of cognac boots:
http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....-need-help
Hope that helps someone--there's lots of pics so you can see how they fit on me. Interestingly even though they were all supposed to be narrow calf you can see there's still some gapping at the top. These were the other ones I tried (ended up keeping the Timberlands):
Vince Camuto Kent--best fit overall with the side stretch panels, but overall didn't seem like my style with the high contrast between the brown and the black stretch panels. It might look better in all black.
Francisco Sarto Imply--has 4 adjustable buckles but with them cinched down, there is a lot of excess fabric.
Ecco Hobart--3 buckles. Same as the Imply. I think these are both normal calf boots but can be cinched down if you add extra holes to the buckles (they can do that for you at Nordstrom). But it's not the sleekest solution.
Francisco Sarto Yonkers (Angie's pick)--it fit OK in the calf, but the heel was a bit high for me and the footbed is not very padded, and it wasn't the right color I was looking for (mushroom which was a taupe, but I was looking for cognac).

Other ones I've tried:
Via Spiga Kacey--this is listed as a narrow calf under Nordstrom's website but I don't think it's very narrow. This was the first pair of boots I tried before I knew about calf fit and I was swimming in them so I ended up returning them.
Aquatalia Vavoom--I ended up buying these. They are a little too big and tall for my calf but I love them anyways--I use them mainly as rain boots.
Cole Haan Air Whitley--I thought these were narrow calf but these are baggy all over on me.
Stuart Weitzman Cadet--I tried on a size 9 (the only size they had) and the calf fit great! Much better than the Cole Haan. But they don't have my size. And I'm not sure about the over the knee style for me.
As mentioned above-Vaneli Riwana--baggy ankles
Trouve Skylar--leather too shiny/wrinkly/cheap looking

As you can see it's been a major slog to find boots that fit!

I bought them a 1/2 size larger than I normally would for MM's (I can range btw 7.5 and 8 depending on the brand) because I figured I could just wear heavy socks and the price was TOO GOOD. They fit well if I wear inserts and socks. Calf is a little looser than I would like but again, with socks it's not terribly obvious. I'm guessing my proper size would've been better.

My Frye Campus boots are not fitted at all. I like 'em fine that way.

I am in the market for wedge/moderate to low heeled cognac boots that will be sleek and fitted so very interested in this thread.

Hmm, I guess I'm a skinny calved cheapskate! I am size 7 or 7.5 with 12 1/4" calves (12 1/2" if I'm training for a race) and have never spent over $100 on boots. The best fits were Mia Deacon (but the styling was more boho/western and I recently consigned them) and Santana Canada Penny. I also have Miz Mooz Gayle, but the votes on Keep or Return were pretty evenly split due to the calf fit.

Stuart Weitzman and Docs all the way.

Aquatalia are next.

(Sorry about these high price points. But those are the US brands that fit my fussy feet and narrow calves best).

Apepazza, Donald Pliner and Timberland will also work - if you are lucky.

The higher the price point, the narrower the calf circumference. It's *almost* guaranteed.

(I'm 5ft 6, wear a size 6.5/37, and my calves measure 13 inches).

I went through the same thing, I had been looking for boots since last fall. I have 13 inch calves and a college student budget. The Frye Melissa Lace boots were my first love but the price never dropped low enough for me :(
I ended up buying these similar looking ones over the summer when they were $85. (Type Z: Jessie)
http://www.zappos.com/type-z-jessie-brown
They have a rougher texture than I had expected, but that fits my style pretty well. There are also a lot of eyelets, which look good but it quite annoying when I relaced them the first time. I love having laces since I can get a good fit on my stick-girl-like ankles. The quality of leather seems good, but I don't own any other leather shoes to compare them with.
Oh right, also the shaft might be kind of tall for you as it is a bit on the tall side for me at 5'7", I'm not sure how that kind of thing works.
Hope this helps! Good luck in your search everyone

Thanks for this post golden - I will be watching it closely. My shoe size is 6.5; calf circumference 13.5 & I am looking for the same shaft size as you.

I'm looking for dark brown boots with a stacked 1-2" heel.

I ordered the Vanelli Riwana boots from Nordstrom & am sorry to hear that they were too roomy in the ankles for you - I will probably have the same problem & will also return them & the search will continue...............................:)

P.S. - I put "Me Too Dee" in my Zappos shopping cart (13.5 circumference) but the buckle bugs me so I will probably pass on these boots.

Good luck in your search!

I have narrow calves too but I'm almost embarrassed to say where I get my boots. Most people on this forum seem to spend way more on shoes than I do.

Calf circumference: 13.5 inches
Height: 5'6"
Shoe size: 6.5 or 7

I have a sleek black pair from Target that fit around the calf pretty well (they feel cheap and probably won't last more than a couple seasons, but they were all I could find that fit and weren't over $100). I have a pair of brown Aerosoles that fit well too that I got from Ross. I have a pair of black riding boots that are Baretrap brand that fit well with skinny jeans and gap slightly when worn with tights.

I've found the same inconsistencies between websites when searching for boots. I make sure I order from places with good return policies since you just can never be sure.

I loved Angie's recent post about narrow calf boots, but am still looking for more suggestions:
http://youlookfab.com/2011/11/.....ow-calves/

I already have a couple of nice narrow calf heeled boots, but now I'm looking for a pair of flat boots for MOTG. I'm having a heck of a time finding something because I'm finding that the online specs are all over the place. I've checked Zappos, Nordstrom, Piperlime and Endless. Zappos' search feature is pretty good because you can narrow by circumference and shaft height, but Nordstrom and Endless have a lot of regular calf boots mixed in when you search for narrow calf boots. For example, I found a boot called "Ariat York" that was listed as "Narrow calf--12 inches" on Nordstrom, but on Zappos and Endless they are listed as 15 inch circumference.

I've also searched the archives here for the narrow calf boot threads but a lot of them have mainly brand recommendations but not always the specific model. For example, Miz Mooz is often mentioned as a good narrow calf brand but all the ones I've checked are listed as 14-15 inch circumference. I tried the Vaneli Riwana that were suggested in Angie's post but the ankles were too baggy. I also tried Trouve Skylar but the leather was very shiny and cheap looking. The only ones I've found so far that might work are the Frye Melissa Lace-ups but they are $$$$. It might be worth it if it's the only one that works, but I want to see if there are other options first before I decide to keep. I thought about Duo Boots, but I'm a little nervous about buying something without free ship/returns.

So I thought it might be very helpful for all of us to have a thread where we list the exact boots that we have bought or have tried on and actually fit us, so we have somewhere to start our search if we're currently looking for narrow calf boots. Please list the specific brand and model, whether it's flat or heeled, colors available (if you know), and your calf circumference and ideal shaft height as well as your height and shoe size. Links and pics also appreciated! This post is self-serving (since I'm looking for boots myself), but I thought it would hopefully help others who are looking too!

I'll start:
My calf circumference: 13.25 inches
Ideal boot height: something between 13-15 inches
My height: 5'5"
Shoe size: 7.5 (sometimes 7)

Boots that fit (measurements taken from Zappos website):
1. La Canadienne Galaxy--wedge heel in chocolate brown or black suede, Heel Height: 2 3⁄4 in, Shaft height: 13 1⁄2 in, Circumference: 13 1⁄2 in. Got normal size 7.5. $315
http://www.zappos.com/la-canad.....rown-suede

2. Timberland Stratham Heights--stack heel boot in black or brown (cognac) leather, Heel Height: 3 in, Platform Height: 1⁄2 in, Shaft: 15 in, Circumference: 13 in. Got normal size 7.5. $140 with coupon code from Timberland.com
http://www.zappos.com/timberla.....boot-brown

3. Frye Melissa Tall Lace--flat lace-up in black, brown (cognac) and dark brown leather, Heel Height: 1 1⁄4 in, Shaft height: 15 1⁄2 in, Circumference: 14 1⁄2 in (it fits because I can cinch in the laces). Recommended to size down 1/2 size so I got size 7. $398.
http://tinyurl.com/6prl6j8
