Wow, really? well I think you are definitely right about there being no substitute for human assessment. The sizes they suggested for me on MyShape were also not the ones I would normally have picked out in the store (they were larger than I normally purchase) but I ended up just trusting the system and with the items I bought it worked out. Sorry it didn't work out for you!

I'm glad you found some stuff on MyShape Kristy. They have really nice clothes, but I don't find their measurement system to be accurate for me at all. They think I am a size 8/10 and a large because of my bust size, which could scarcely be more inaccurate (I am usually a 2 or 4 or small).

I think the best way to figure out your shape is the Angie method. Truly there is no better way to figure it out than by having an expert look at you and eyeball it. Myshape knows my waist is about 10" smaller than my bust and hips, but it doesn't know where my weight projects the most if that makes sense. That is something only a real human being can assess. That said, I think given their method (which seems a tad gimmicky, but not inaccurate), I think the shape they chose for me is probably right (S), but before my chest filled out, I was an M, and I found that I had nothing in common with any of the other M's on the forum.

Hey guys,

I've read about myshape on a lot of conversations and just thought I'd add my two cents. I've been using it for a while now and I recently bought a dress from there that I love! I really think they nailed my body shape and while some of the clothes in my personal shop don't really match my personal style, there are definitely some pieces that I think I could incorporate into my wardrobe.

Ooo and here's the dress I bought. I'm wearing it tomorrow (just posted this in the what I'm wearing thread). can't wait! :)
