The silk ribbon thing I did too with sarongs- instead of a big bulky knot </p> https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/my-wrap-skirts-for-angie#post-2023633 Wed, 01 May 2019 15:14:55 +0000 Diana 2023633@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ <p>Angie asked me to post pictures of my (many) wrap skirts. &nbsp;Since I'm currently at work, you get old photos and there's one skirt that's not represented here. &nbsp;On the other hand, it turns out I actually have FIVE and not four of them. &nbsp;;)</p> <p>1-2, and 6: Uniqlo x JW Anderson asymmetrical ruffle wrap midi. &nbsp;This one closes with ties, which are a bit bulky and can cause problems with certain longer tops. &nbsp;But as you can see, I can still manage to layer longer things over it if I'm careful. &nbsp;It helps to tuck the knot/bow inside the waistband if I'm going to layer.</p> <p>3: plaid wrap midi. &nbsp;My mom made this skirt for me ages ago. &nbsp;It closes with buttons and a kilt pin, and the top part of the wrap is actually diagonal which cleverly reduces the volume on the waist. &nbsp;</p> <p>4: This is the one I forgot about! &nbsp;I haven't worn it for ages. &nbsp;It's a simple wool wrap miniskirt also made by my mom. &nbsp;Closes with buttons, but because it's a heavy wool lined with flannel it's kind of bulky and can really only be worn with cropped tops, so is harder to style.</p> <p>5: A very lightweight silk chiffon skirt from anthropologie a million years ago. It kept blowing/gaping open when I was walking because it was so lightweight and the wrapover portion was not very large, so I sewed the bottom half of the wrap shut. &nbsp;It closes with ties and a hook, but the ties are a thin silk ribbon that is not very bulky so they don't get in the way of tops. &nbsp;</p> <p>(missing from these photos): A really boring black knee-length ponte-ish skirt. &nbsp;A partial wrap (as in, the bottom is sewn shut but the waist part wraps. &nbsp;I hardly ever wear it but it's part of my funeral/interview capsule so I keep it for those occasions.&nbsp;</p> <p>Bonus (#7) a very 90's-esque plaid wrap dress.&nbsp; </p>
