Angie inspired me to dig out my pair -- drawstring army green, from several years ago -- and I wore them on the plane for our trip to Puerto Rico, with flats a la Angie. Anyway, I had failed to realize that I have lost a few pounds since purchasing them, so by the time we landed in Orlando, the first stop, the pants wanted to drop to the floor! Not only were they typically disheveled linen, but they <u>would not stay up</u>. And because I was wearing flats, no matter what I did, they were puddling on the floor all around me. I arrived in San Juan looking like I had been living in them for years, inside a laundry basket. Angie prefers heels with all wide pants except linen, due to their casual vibe. I agree with her if the linen pant is drawstring or elastic waisted but these are tailored with a waistband, fly &amp; back welt pockets so to me they are not as casual. I say that because I can't wear them for as much walking as most reviewers but it is common for shoes to eventually hurt me when walking is involved. With these I think it might be the synthetic lining against my skin. They go with everything though. Dresses, jeans, shorts, cropped chino's etc.</p> <p><b>Gracie&nbsp;</b>I know what you mean &amp; have had that experience with slingbacks but not with these.
