Some are too brownish and muddy for me. Sort of a raisin color? It can work but it’s not my favorite, even though I can see how it could function as a neutral. I haven’t tried since I let my grey hair grow out. </p> <p>I do love a rich burgundy or plum though! They had the blue trench, but only in a XS. I tried it on anyway just to get a sense of it. Surprisingly, it nearly fit. It’s quite oversized, and I ordered the M, so I’m curious to see how that looks. I actually liked the shoulder fit in the XS but the body was too snug. I think the S might even have worked, but probably not with the ease in the hip I would prefer, especially since I was trying it over a lightweight skirt and not the jeans I’d typically be wearing in fall/winter. </p> <p>I do very much like the style and the color, and the quality seems very nice. It’s casual but with a bit of refinement and edge, so right in my wheelhouse. </p> <p>Nothing else really grabbed me. Most of the other items I had even a passing interest in from the online offerings were not available in that store. The one exception is this bag, which I think is so adorable! However, it’s quite small, with a very short shoulder strap, so I see its usefulness being quite limited. Burgundy pants or jeans have been a HEWI for me. They’re not on sale, but with only one pair left in my size, I decided to try them. </p> <p>I also took the bait to try the Avec Les Filles trench. I do not need more outerwear, but I really love the color and vibe of this — not a common color for an item like this, so again, I decided to at least try it. It looks like it may be a challenging cut for me, like it perhaps narrows at the bottom? But it’s always hard to tell in photos.
