Really? Wow, you must have some long gams Angie. Well, I was wondering because I know the leg is going to straighten out after I hem them. I guess I'll just see how it goes.

The fabric is really nice. Very soft and not too stiff or thin. Just perfect. I think the Ursulas will be my go-to pants in the future. Of course, they probably won't always go on sale for $9, but hopefully I won't need them to. I have grown very attached to them and would have been sad if I was told to pass on them.

Angie, do you think the leg opening on these is wide enough to be worn with Cons? Since I will be hemming a lot of length off, I suspect I'll end up lopping off the slim bootcut and they will end up as straight legs.

Thanks for taking pictures, Maya! I agree, 2s are much better. Mine fit me sort of like your 4s picture, a little roomier. Oh well, I hope it's passable, hehe.
I think they absolutely qualify for killer rating. I'd love to see the pic with the new jacket!

Maya, these look great on you! The 4's look way too baggy but the 2's look a tiny little bit snug in the bum, nothing obscene but it does kind of flatten your butt a little. I can't remember how the fabric felt (saw them in the Edison store back when I was in NJ a couple of months ago) but maybe they will relax a little with wear?

OK, not to continue dragging this out further but...

I tried the 4's again and took pictures and when I took the pictures, I realized they are too big in the hips. It seems like I carry my weight more in my bum than in my hips, so while they fit well in that regard, they were just way too baggy everywhere else. Here is a picture for your validation:

http://img.photobucket.com/alb.....G_1847.jpg

I'm still not sure if the MC pants are too snug in the bum though.

http://img.photobucket.com/alb.....G_1842.jpg

...but I just love how they look in this picture! I look skinny!

http://img.photobucket.com/alb.....G_1845.jpg

I can't stop vacillating. I really only want to keep them if they are killer. I can't afford to spend even $9 on something that is not really great.

Thanks Marianne. Hmm, maybe I will try taking a picture in the 4's. I just don't really find the size difference between the 2's and 4's to be particularly dramatic. I always felt that pants should have a more relaxed fit than jeans, so while I might take the 2 in jeans, I thought a 4 would be better in pants. So you might be right in sizing up. Not everyone took a slimmer fit either...there were quite a few people who had to size up. It seems like almost everyone who tried these were deliberating between sizes.

Pictures are very deceiving aren't they? I come out as a different body type in my pictures too.

These pictures are old but they definitely give some perspective:

http://img.photobucket.com/alb.....uaE_ph.jpg

I assure you I don't just have really really tall friends :)

It probably is because I have long legs for my height. My upper half is a stump. It makes complete sense. You gain weight where you are shortest, so you are a pear while I am an apple...even though we are the same size and height

I think the pants look great, Maya. They should relax a bit. Seeing more pictures of these pants lately I now wonder if I should have sized down. Everyone seems to have a slimmer fit. Hmm... maybe I'll put on a couple of pounds :)
I've seen those windowpane pants, and they look nice, too, albeit more demure. I'd keep them for the price.

Are you kidding me?! You seem much taller to me! I thought I remembered reading that you were 5'6" or so, so when I saw the hems I was just like "oh, they fit her without folding up-wow". I'm 5'2" also but I read much shorter than you- maybe because I'm long-waisted and you are short? My legs are like little stumps, but yours seem so long!

I had to lol at your comment on my height Ele. I am 5'2! I just had the hems folded under a bit so I didn't fall and kill myself on the way to the bathroom to take these pictures. When I tried to fold them under with flats, there was just too much fabric bunching around the bottom.

Thanks for the clarification Sarah. I hope Tam gets the right pants! How confusing. I remember the guy asking me "Are they the britt ursulas? Are they $9? Black and white squares?" Of course I said yes to all of these things and yet they are very different pants!

I really like the fit and fabrication of these pants so I'm tempted to keep them anyway, but I need fewer black pants and not more. If they were white with black plaid, I would have kept them. Glad you love yours. How do they feel/fit?

Anyway, I guess my concern is that my rear is um...a lot more defined in these pants than in the 4's. Maybe I'm just not used to it. I did not get the impression that they would stretch out, but I am keeping them anyway. It doesn't look like it will be easy to find another pair in a 4 at this point, and while these may not be perfect, they are close enough.

Love them, Maya! I'm wearing mine today. ;)
I think I figured out what happened. The Atlanta store considers the mini checks as the glen plaid/windowpane pants you got, and considers what we call micro checks as herringbone. When I called, I asked for the mini check and he said they were out except in sizes 2 and 4, but they had a herringbone in size 8. I nabbed it since I am a huge fan of CM pants on me and they were only $9. But I got the micro checks. Yay!

I love these on you, Maya! I might be in the minority but the bunching doesn't bother me- they look perfectly fine. I also don't think the 2's look too tight at all, I can't imagine that the 4's look better. My 2's fit very similar to yours, maybe a wee touch tighter on the hips, but they definitely loosen and give a bit, even just wearing them for ten minutes.

You are going to get so much wear out of these! Do they work with your new white jacket? Such a great interview outfit, if so. Polished but bright and positive rather than a load of black.

OT, but I can't believe how tall you are- wow! Even with heels I have to turn mine up inches. I have opted to hem them for heels (I think being so short, and pear-shaped, and them being a lighter colour than I normally wear on the bottom, it made the most sense?) and am picking them up from the dry cleaner's tomorrow. Very excited to wear them soon.

Maya- could the bunching in the back be because they do not have the room to fall to the floor since they are too long? That's what I was thinking at first. They look fantastic in the other views.

Heh, all of you are saying it looks loose, but actually the creasing is happening because they're tight. The thighs are pretty straight but there is some creasing around the bum.

I "modeled" the 2's and the 4's for my mom, and she thinks the 4's fit better. If only they were the right pants...

But she said they weren't bad, and if I hadn't asked or shown her the 4's, she wouldn't have noticed or thought anything of it.

I have to return the "wrong" pants anyway, which I will probably do in the NJ store. Who knows, maybe they will have the 4's. if not, I'll just keep these and hope I don't gain any weight.

Laura, I would duplicate, but since these went on sale for $9, they have been flying off the shelves. I snagged the last 2 in the store and perhaps all of NYC, hehe. All the 4's seem to be gone, unless someone returns them.

Thank you Taylor! I hope they work for you. They have adjustable side tabs so they just might fit your little waist.

To be honest they look SO much better in person than in pictures. In pictures, the check pattern looks small and the overall effect is just a strange mottled gray color. But in person they look quite sharp and are beautifully made...especially for $9 :)

If you need to order them, check Annagybe's thread. I have listed the Soho number there. They had a ton of 0's yesterday and their service is wonderful.

Angie, I do like these pants. I was concerned that no one else would because I wasn't sure if they fit right. Here is the story of my struggle (:P):

On Monday I checked my account to see if I had been charged for the pants I ordered from the Atlanta store (the same ones Sarah ordered, and Niva ordered for Tam). Since I usually see the charges immediately, I wasn't sure what was going on. These pants were a size 4 (this will become relevant). I decided to just go buy them in the store on Tuesday while I was in NY, figuring I could always return them. I found them, tried them on, and though they fit perfectly.

When I got home, wouldn't you know it, there was a package waiting for me. I figured it wasn't a big deal: this way I can try on both sizes and make sure the 2's are right. But when I opened the box, they were the wrong pants! They are the same fit but they are solid black with a faint white windowpane pattern. I tried them on anyway to see how a size 4 would fit, and it seemed to fit well too, maybe even a bit better.

I never wear pants, always jeans, so I'm used to going with the snugger fit if I have a choice. I was now worried that since pants are supposed to be bit more relaxed, maybe the 4's were better. I would take a picture in the windowpane pattern pants, just so you could see the fit, but they're black so it's hard to tell anything, like if they're creasing or whiskering or anything.

But, if no one else minds, neither do I. I think they look weird from the back in these pictures because I had to stand awkwardly to get that picture. There is some creasing but it's not as dramatic.

Sorry I am so long winded lately. I should know better and break things down into bite size Angie bits :)

Medusa, you might want to look around when you're in NYC. I got mine in the Soho store and there are a few left, but mostly 0's. There are a bunch of stores, but they are very low on stock as they have gone on sale for only $9. The Flatiron store is completely sold out.

When I saw the photo from the back I thought the folds didn't look good, but then in the photo taken from the side where your front leg is slightly forward those folds aren't present. So they look good to me.

Can I ask where you found them? Are they back in CM stores? I couldn't find them about a month ago.

Maya, I think they fit you perfectly. A teensy bit baggy in the bum maybe, but look at how perfectly they fall and drape in the front. No creases! I dearly hope they work for you.

My pants came back from alterations yesterday and its amazing how much fabric had to be taken away in the seat and on the sides and how little had to be taken out at the thighs. And they still don't look as great as they do on you

I'm sure everyone is tired of hearing about these pants, but indulge me anyway. There is a long story behind these pants, but I'll spare you for now since I have to run. I would rather get everyone's opinion first (on the fit, obviously not on how I'm wearing them!).

I have them on with heels just so there isn't too much bunching at the bottom, but this is not how I would normally wear them.

I will give my opinion later.
