I think they're fine without the heel showing-- it's just a different look from if the heel did show. If you get sandals to wear them with, then the heel will show.</p> <p>When I wore mine, I felt so avant-garde in Austin. It did feel a little weird wearing black tights in 98 degrees but I just decided I was channeling Hong Kong (thanks, Angie) and they were great for the AC.
