I guess with safety pins needed it's best they went back to her. Gosh, I hope they are not dated, once I'm able to start posting any pics and it's winter you would see my whole winter wardrobe is based on skinny ponte type pants. Hopefully more similar ones might turn up, unless fashion has moved into the flares so much that we can't get skinniest any more. I would break my heart if so when mine wore out. Stylewise, she is curvy, colourful, and boho, where I am angular, neutral-loving, and androgynous/classic. And she doesn't love to shop for clothes! But we have great fun doing it together.</p> <p>Two years ago, while shopping together, we both fell for the same pants, at Marks Work Wearhouse of all places. But they only had one pair in our size. So we made a deal: I would wear them that first winter, and if her weight loss progressed as planned, I'd pass them on to her the second winter.</p> <p>That's how it played out. The first winter, they became a beloved FFB. They are Ponte with a grey and black geometric print so go with everything in my wardrobe. Slim straights, fit easily inside tall boots but never feel leggings -clingy. Just the right length, and kept it through washing and drying unlike many others.</p> <p>The second year I passed them on to her as planned. And oh, how I missed them. I looked for a replacement, but the best I could find was a plain black Ponte skinny. Same make I think, but they bagged out with wearing, didn't keep their length, and showed every water spot and smudge. So this year, when she was coming for a visit, I asked her to bring our pants.</p> <p>When we chatted this weekend she was missing them already. Today with true fall temperaturs I wore them for the first time (in, it turns out, one of my versions of the classic Audrey. These grey-flannel-and-patent ballerines were passed over all summer, but called to me today). At first I wasn't sure --the waist felt a bit low. But as the day wore on they stayed up, and their perfect comfort and classic style won me over again.</p> <p>So now I'm torn. Is this silhouette becoming dated? Should I send them back across country? Or should I enjoy them this winter, and send them back next year when I hope to have reached goal weight and sized out of them?</p> <p>Pic 1, me in today's outfit.
