Okay, your capsule posts are such a treat!! I saw this yesterday, but saved it for today, when I'm home to actually look without interruption :-)

I'm late to this, but still wanted to offer that my favorites on you are 3, 4, 5, 10, 13, 14, 15, and 18

I'm on the fence about 7, 8, 11, and 17 - not bad at all, just not as wonderful (in *my* eyes) as the first batch.

I'm 'meh' about 1, 2, 6, 9, 12, 16. And here's what's funny -- none of them are bad outfits, just in comparison to all the others, I think you've set your bar higher!

I DO think you'd benefit greatly from a dark patterned skirt. Your solid color, light skrt just doesn't do the same job that a dark patterned one would.

I'll trust everyone else before me, had plenty of other specifics

Fabbers, it's you who are inspiring me!! I thoroughly enjoy reading all your comments and suggestions, and I'm so happy that you appreciate this. My wardrobe needs a dark, patterned pencil for the S/S season, and I wouldn't mind finding a similar one to the one in Redbook's capsule at all. I agree that the light skirt is too bland in this capsule.

Saramir, you are entirely entitled to NOT be loving the spring looks from Redbook, or my version of them! I'm not that convinced myself, either, in fact. A few of them are good, but many are actually quite meh. And as you pointed out, too; I find some of them dated, somehow. My reason for doing this is the 'what if..' question that is motivating a lot of my various projects, not only in regard of my wardrobe. I simply love to play with variables, and to make do with what I already have. I think capsules are very intriguing, obviously, and a great exercise for my creativity. When I play copy cat like I did here, I always discover something new, an interesting combination for example, or also what I do *not* like, like scarves tied around my waist! I really appreciate your honest feedback.

Denise, Siniestra is right - I am not tall. I'm 5"4', so I'm bordering on petite. Thanks for explaining the idiom to me, a very good description, too!

Claire, this is the deceiving ways of the internet at play, you know;) I show you a tiny, tidy corner of my living room, but what I won't let you see is all my piles of clothes, dishes and newspapers scattered all over my house

What an incredible thread!! I lost track of the number of times I thought, "I like Ingunn's outfit better than Redbook's."

The only piece I really wanted you to switch out was the khaki skirt. I found it kind of blah and didn't like the outfits with the khaki skirt as much, compared to your other "wow" outfits. Buying a skirt that has navy or is more graphic would be a great addition to your wardrobe, and probably not an expensive investment.

I am stunned and awed along with everybody else. And can I mention how clean your floor looks? Always? When I try exercises like this, my bed gets covered with clothes, but when I look at your pictures I imagine you hanging each piece up carefully in-between frames, which I'm sure you do! Genius like this doesn't happen in a cluttered bedroom.

What a beautiful bunch of eye candy you gave us to look at. I didn't think anything looked dated, per se, but as you know certain things work for photos that we wouldn't choose to wear in real life (like the scarf around the waist). The only look I didn't care for was the khaki skirt with the white shirt because there wasn't enough contrast. Do you think you might get a navy dotted skirt now? It would fit into your wardrobe really well! You have some gorgeous clothes and a marvelous assortment of shoes. I can tell your things are really good quality, too. *drool*

Ingunn, you are amazing! I am so impressed with your interpretation of the capsule. I love the tomato coloured jeans on you and the blue grey jacket is lovely. The only ones I didn't care for was #6 and #9....I felt they were a bit bland for you.
The black trousers and tomato jeans show off your great legs.
You inspired me to try and create my own capsule. Well done.

I am speechless. You have so many great outfits "in the can" and ready to go!

(In the can is an expression from the movie business -- it means the the film is finished, the reel/s are in the tin can and ready to be shipped.)

And (ducking from Angie) I love the length of the black pants. They look so modern and I am very surprised that I like them on you at this length. Maybe it's because you are tall?

Of all the WIWs and possible outfits you've posted since I've been a regular here, I don't think I've ever thought anything less than "wow, she looks terrific!"

It's amazing how close you got on some of these looks, but....I do think some of these look like they came out of 1987 or 1993. I am not a fan. I liked #1 and #17. The rest were either meh or dated...which is a reflection of my (dis)taste of spring trends, I suppose! (It wasn't your interpretation I thought was off so much as the whole original capsule.)

My 2 cents of honesty.

ETA: I just read through the comments and found I am way in the minority...just want to make it clear that I think lngunn is fantastic (I LOVE your poses!) but I am just not a fan of the spring looks in Redbook.

Much love here for the effort and results! I like alot and 10 and 15 stood out and the great striped top over white shirt.

I think some of the looks with the scarf tied at the waist seemed ok on the model but gave a sense of 'trying too hard' when you did it on yourself. I think I would feel that way if I tried it. I remember something similar last year from a challenge.

Most the pieces you used really gave the same feel as the redbook pics but I think the dotted skirt in the redbook pics generally was used to contrast and counterpoint the tops. So the neutral skirt gave less punch, although it is fine and classic look.

I loved the red skinnies replacing the pattern ones though, they have plenty of punch!

You raise a question for me, I personally find the white shirt under black tunic look for grown women a bit school girlish even though it is classic and looks great on people.... yet loved the striped shirt under the dress a few looks later! think its a school uniform thing for me... that is totally OFF TOPIC as this is just amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love all the looks you did here! I started a list of my very favorites: 1, 4, 6, 7, 8, 10... then I hit my memorization limit.

Hands-down, though, my absolute favorite is #4, and I like your version better than the original. It's just the right amount of nautical, which I have always loved

I don't think #8 looks dated in the least! but it looks too bundled up for me (in all fairness I'm in Florida this week, which is probably why I'm thinking that right now). I'm wondering how #8 would look with your shorter black pants?

Brenda, the poses were the most fun part:) I agree with you - a navy polka dot skirt would be a workhorse for me. If I find one, I'll add it instantly!

Amazing! I'm so impressed. You even did their poses!

You really need a navy polka dot pencil skirt. It would fit into your closet well, don't you think?

Jen, how sweet of you to say that! This is a stunning girl, so I'm very flattered:) I agree that the skirt wasn't the best choice. I have a navy skirt, but it is flared and a very different silhouette. Maybe I'll add another pencil at some point.

Suz, I think Mexx and BR have several similarities both in styles and quality. I like both brands. A jacket in that color would suit you very well.

WOW! You had me on the first picture -- you look cuter than the model.

I love remix capsules and I look forward to your versions. It's so fun to see remixes in real life.

My personal fav is #17. I think I'd also prefer a navy, colored or even patterned skirt to your neutral skirt (in this remix) as this one doesn't create enough contrast with the white blouse.

Great job!!!

Thanks, Ingunn! We have Mexx here, too. I ask because it looks similar to the Banana Republic one I tried on the other day which I was strongly considering.

Mona, thank you! I really like the red pants, too, but they are skinny enough:)

Tina, thanks! I like the look of patterned pants, but I think I would prefer them to be fitted, not body con on me:) I'm feeling a little self conscious in the red ones.

Ryce, thanks a lot! I think capsules are so much fun - excellent for boosting my creativity!

DC, I'm very pleased if I have inspired you. A capsule is indeed a great starting point for a wardrobe refreshment.

Tanya, thank you! I agree that the Redbook site had a lot of interesting articles. I wasn't aware of it until Carole posted a few days ago.

Suz, my jacket is from Mexx, bought locally last summer. The wedges are from Filippa K, a favorite Swedish brand. Let me know if I should go shopping for you I love astrid's shoes even more now, they are both very pretty and comfortable, and they work so well with a lot of things I already have. My oxfords will be of better quality than the ones I borrowed today, and I think they will be great, too.

Angie, I knew you would say that about my pants:) And I think you are right, too! Re. #8 - I have problems with fit in lower rise jeans, as the dreaded muffin top becomes a problem very quickly. I do have a pair that works, though. Will try that next time.

Raisin and Harmonica, thank you! I'm only playing with fashion, that's all:)
