Ah, hindsight... but if you had gone to that wedding, you'd have been prepared, at least. We all do this, though.... I'm thinking of a certain emerald jacket. :T I guess we chalk it up to live and learn!

You might see it as a mistake, but I really love dress #1. Any chance you might have a formal occasion next summer?

It's always a bummer when you leave something behind and change your mind, then can't find it again!

Alas, I didn't even think to note the brand on the dress. It was really just a 'I think I'll try this new silhoette' kind of thing, where I just grabbed what was close to me. I remember the belt was a large, even, that's why I had to hold it in back. Drats - next time dressing room pics are going to include the tag!

Yes, definitely search out that second dress, and when you find it, continue to wear it over pants. You have the perfect figure for that look.

The second one looks so fab on you, I hope you find it again. Since joining YLF, I have learned that taking pics of what I'm wearing helps so much - things I thought I looked good in, I don't (or I don't look as good as I thought I did), and outfits I wasn't sure about look fantastic, or I will get a better idea of how to wear it to make it look fantastic!

I'll try to keep my eyes peeled for dresses similar to #2. That is indeed beautiful on you. Keep an eye out for Donna Morgan, Tahari by ASL, & Nine West (based on seeing similarly cut dresses in those brands last year.) you might even check out 6pm or overstock.com to see if there are any similar dresses remaining.

Both are very flattering on you, Mo. Sorry to hear that the first is no longer your style, but I hope the second one turns up again. At least you can take some satisfaction in knowing that you are honing in on your style.

Sadly, I agree with you on the silk dress.

It stinks that a poly dress looks so much better than your silk one!

Haha, Ah, this is so hard to judge! And, when looking back at the wedding dress is this because your style has changed? You can't really plan for that, except maybe to just buy really plain things when buying items you know you won't wear that often...so I think you get a pass on that!

Since Shannon was sharing, I'll add to it. We all do it. No one is perfect.
I just had to have a 'wedding attendee' dress at the ready last summer. Ironically, the only good friend to get married since, I missed the wedding last month. Anyway, I got split votes on whether to plan ahead or wait until it was needed. Got the dress, great price, good brand, all silk, fit fine. I look at the pic today, and I would not take it off the rack to give it a second look! It will be going on the auction block once I return home.
By contrast, a dress I sort of 'threw on' at Ross, to test out what belting a blouson would look like on me, I left behind. I figured, eh, patterned poly dresses are a dime a dozen. Well, I kick myself that I left it there. I was even wearing it over pants and it made my figure look fab. Sigh.

dresses - 2
Mo - 0

LOL
