I will have this skirt in the right size for the event. Whether I alter it or sell this on Ebay and purchase another is still on the table. My husband is so supportive about my weight loss and getting what I need for my changing body. I do a lot of thrifting lately, and have a pile of pieces I love to be tailored once I get to my goal.

Yes, WW is a very healthy way to lose weight especially if you follow their healthy guidelines daily. I plan to become a lifetime member and go to meetings even after reaching goal, as I intend for this to be the only time in my life to face this challenge. Prior to this I have only ever had to lose pregnancy weight but this journey is hard and I will not go through it again!

Do you think you might have the skirt altered? It's a cool pattern and it would be a shame if you can't wear it. The top is lovely too, however I feel the two garments are competing with each other. They are both quite striking and each would work beautifully with a simpler piece. And we'll done on your weight loss, you must be feeling fantastic. I recall you said you are doing Weight Watchers...I'm a life member of WW, it's definitely one of the healthiest ways to loose weight.

For this particular event that skirt is somewhat pushing it and the top I have chosen balances it out to make it more appropriate. I would not feel comfortable in a sweater and know that my husband would seriously question that look.

Very fab and a nice wintry combination! I think bolder items work well in winter, and some glitzy jewelry would look nice too. Thanks for sharing!

Great maxi skirt:-), but I will wear it rather with a black(or white) sparkly knit, as per Angie's blog, today! You still have some time to look for something if you wish?

Great skirt! I don't know if you would feel comfortable with this, but how about a simpler top? Maybe just black, V neck, tucked in, with a red patent leather belt? The top looks formal and classic to me and the skirt is definitely fun and modern. I adore that skirt and I think a simpler top would allow it to shine even more. I love the top in the photo but I think it might work better with a slim pant or pencil skirt.

Have a great time.

I love this skirt! I hope you are able to make it work even after your weight loss. Congratulations on your success in that! Hopefully you can have it taken in or maybe just pin it if it won't show (depending on your top).

This was what I had purchased and was so excited about to wear to my husband's formal company event. Alas, I did not do a good job of estimating my weight loss and the skirt is loose now but looks ok, will not be ok by December.....

Not complaining about this I love that my weight loss journey is going so well, I have averaged one pound per week for the past 26 weeks, gotta love that!

Homeschooling my 12 year old right now, so no head shot as hair and makeup not done! He took my photo!
