I had some maxi skirts hemmed, and when I got them home I freaked out, thinking that I hadn't had them hemmed enough. But I decided to just wear them and see how it went. Now I think they're fine for the most part...I'm still experimenting with different footwear and different positions for the waistband. But the "freaked-out" phase is past and I can view things more objectively. Just give yourself some time to get used to the pants, see how they work with all kinds of different footwear, and go from there.
