Personally, I think a cropped jacket/blazer works to add structure to a long tunic or unstructured top and I don't think you need the structure for this outfit because the striped top is fitted. Maybe a top that reversed the stripe to a narrow white stripe on a dark background would be worth trying--or a stripe in a different width. A jacket that hung open with a straighter line might also be an idea worth trying.
