Your compliment on my fringe made me smile. I have been cutting my fringe myself for a while now (pandemic measures) and the results vary a lot. Last time, I cut a bit too much and ended up with a sort of weird asymmetric “baby bangs” I am lucky it grows out quickly. Chris, I really like Geox footwear. I have many pairs, mainly sneakers, loafers and also some Chelsea boots. I think they are great and very much value for the price. I know, it’s a shame when that happens. I am mostly disappointed because Escada was a constant in my wardrobe for more than 20 years. Ever since I started working, I loved their blazers and suits. I could not always afford them, but I always found a way to find them on sales, in factory outlet in Germany and auctions. I have been loyal to the style regardless if it was trending or not. Escada has always had a lot of jewel tones, colour blocked brights, lux fabrics, leather, and of course black. And bling and embellishments. And I have always liked wearing bold colours and maximal outfits. I wonder, which brand might be similar…. Do you, guys, know? I almost went into mourning when two of my favorite brands changed designers the same year, and one went Meno-Core and the other 70s. I can only imagine the depth of your Escada mourning, their pieces look made for you. I found NWT pieces on eBay for a couple of years and then did a massive shop to find new brands. I am happy with my current mix, but it’s required a lot of trial and error and I ended up having to shop more brands on a regular basis to get the look I want. I chose the Geox jacket, when searching for a light puffer, because I really like the channeling - it gives it a bit of a glam and designer vibe. The jacket is very light and comfy and it came with a little fabric bag to fold the jacket into a small package - very practical for travel and transitional weather. SF - I have been collecting Escada items for years - I just love the bold colours and the style (whatever the style is)…. The brand was in trouble a few times, but managed to somehow survive (several acquisitions). The quality of the clothing was continuously very good - I have had very few items that were less than perfect. I am afraid Escada has gone under now, though. They declared insolvency about a year ago, I think? And the shops in Germany have shut down? Do you know how it is in Berlin? Is there anything left? Anyway, the prices have been high and I shopped a lot in outlets or discounts etc. Some pieces in auctions (new condition with tags). If you like the style - I recommend you to try to get some items that might be left to get online or in outlets.
