You all seem to "get" my feelings on the cardis... I love that :)

Aida, I think you nailed it with this: As for cardigans in general I think you are a bit like me, in the desire
for extra drama. So something bigger, more textured, or interestingly
angled would probably work better for you. I do feel MUCH better in, and have no questions regarding, the ones I have that are longer, or drapy, or textured. More substantial in some way. These just feel so... "twee".

I may hang on to the stripy one just a little longer...it's actually navy and pink, not black and pink, which is a colour combo I adore. Will definitely try some of the styling ideas here... thanks!!

Since all kinds of cascade, flowy and fluid knits came in I barely wear my classic shape cardis, as well...I do have all sorts of jackets, but I will never gave up on knitted toppers, rather slowly replacing them with these newer and even more flattering to my eyes shapes:-). My faves here are the asymmetric hems and colors you wear so well!

I think good call on passing the cardigans, although like Approprio I quite like the pink striped one for its punky look. I'd pop over a similarly v-necked black top so it reads more like a "top" versus as a "cardigan", and love her suggestion of buttons + skinny black pants with it. As for cardigans in general I think you are a bit like me, in the desire for extra drama. So something bigger, more textured, or interestingly angled would probably work better for you. Of course, there's no need to get one if you're not into it! I only have twp cardigans left that I wear as a topper, and one or two that I wear as "sweaters". That's it.

Outfits #4 and #6 are amazing on you. Definitely onto something with the angles. Plus those printed pants are super fun. #7 is a fab little casual look. Yay for orange

I have a hard time with standard cardigans as well. Longer, open cardigans are fine though. I think you can safely pass on the cardigans. You gave them a fair shot and still aren't enjoying wearing them. The other outfits are all great. I especially like how your pants and pendant match each other in #4. #7 is another favorite with the red top.

Sorry for the delayed reply...it's a PD day here, and I've been running around all day with the girls.

Thank you all for your input. I have a hard time getting rid of things that seem "perfectly fine", which is what these cardigans are to me. But I don't feel they are "me" in style at all... I feel dressed in them, but not fab. Esp when I look back at the photos. I have NO idea why it's such a struggle to pass them on. Maybe because tastes and styles change? But I think I will. As well as a cobalt one I also have. I truly don't think I'll miss them, Lord knows I won't be naked without them. Yay, a challenge goal achieved!!

Suz... in the energy profile/dressing your truth system, they discuss what shapes and design lines suit each energy type, as well as colour (and a bunch of other things). I truly think there is something to this. Angles and asymmetry are attributed to Type 3, which is my secondary energy. I feel (and think I look) so much better in angles than I do in things that are rounded. And I have NO interest in circles, never have. Learning and understanding this about myself has been huge. You may have a strong Type 3 energy as well, which may explain why they also work for you, despite our different body types.

Nice looks! And I admire your tenacity with such a detailed challenge.

Agree with others that the cardi's are a bit dated, but I might be tempted to hold on to the pink stripy number, which has some old-fashioned punk potential to my eye. I'd pin on a couple of badges and wear it unbuttoned over black tailored pants.

Then again, I suck at getting rid of stuff so don't take my advice.

Elizabeth, you have nailed your style so amazingly well! Absolutely stunning.

Anyway, while I agree that the colours of 1-3 are great on you, the style seems a bit dated for you and the cut is less flattering than some of your newer pieces. So -- begone! Somebody will love them.

#4 is gorgeous and comfortable looking. No wonder you wore it twice!

The ruffled blouse is lovely on you -- feminine yet crisp. A nice style.

And I love your new leggings/ sweater outfit.

Plus you are GLOWING in the last outfit!!

Interesting -- we're not the same body type yet we are similarly flattered by asymmetrical hems and semi-tucked tops. I find this fascinating. I know these shapes flatter a lot of people, but I suspect it has to do with more than simply body type -- know what I mean? I am curious about the intersection between body type/ personal style/ face shape/ other unknown factors. Why does a semi-tuck look SO extra good on you and feel easy and right -- whereas on another person it is just "meh" or "okay" and on still another it feels and looks ridiculous?

There is something about a 'regular' cardigan that just doesn't do it for me these days. I like them but they are a little not your current look. I admire your dedication to your challenge, your outfits are fab.

The skirted leggings look really good Elizabeth. Looking at these, I would say that sized up, you would have a little more length and a slightly more relaxed fit on the legs

As for the cardigans -- I'd suggest semi-tucking the first (faux tuck) and wearring the purple one unbuttoned.

I agree pass the cardigans on - they are an awkward length and not really your style (IMO). The colours are nice though I agree.

Here is week 3 of my November challenge, which I outlined here
http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....-challenge

So each week, I want to have a day in which I wear:
1. No black.
2. Something new
3. Colour other than cobalt
4. Dress or skirt
5. Something that I rarely wear, and analyze why
6. Dress for errands/casual.
7. YLF ensemble or outfit inspired

I can cover off more than one of these in a given day.

1-3. This is wearing something I rarely wear (the cardigans). I love the colours in both of them, which is why I've hung on to them, but I think I really dislike this shape on me. Would you agree that both can be moved on? 1-2 also covers off #1 and #6.

4. Wore this twice :). My DD was sick this week, so was at home a lot, running into the office for meetings. So when I realized nobody had seen me in this because I had gone to an out of office meeting for just a couple of hours one day, I snuck it in again. Cuz I loved it. Both sweater and pants are new... sweater from NAS.

5. New... blouse (NAS) although I have worn it before.

6. New, and a skirt. Well, skirted leggings to be exact. My Motto ones arrived, from Aus. Love the length and asymmetry... which is good, because that's why I got them :) This outfit makes me want to wear navy and black, with asymmetric angles, every day.

7. Worn to help out at and watch my DD's synchronized swimming meet. #6 and #3.

I think I got everything. Comments on anything welcome!
