Fun to see all yours! I love your Mom's one Karen and your Seiko Janet.
The Cat, you can see each 5 minutes if you look closely, there is a pattern. But my old watch is better for that so I may wear the new one more for dressing up.

Very nice! I got a mixed metal watch for my birthday nearly 20 years ago. I loved that it tied together my gold wedding ring and the silver earrings I wore occasionally. Now I wear silver almost exclusively and started wearing a giant silver tone watch.

I love all of these - I think we share taste in watches. I recently purchased several, after going for years with just one mixed metal and one sports watch. I don't wear bracelets or rings, so a watch gives me a functional piece of jewelry.

DH had my mom's gold Bulova cleaned and repaired for me for Christmas and I am so enjoying wearing it.

Nice new watch. The shape and the mixed metal reminds me of a watch I used for many years. Mine, however, had Roman numerals, which I love, and every 5th minute was marked, which is important to me.

MIixed metal watches are so versatile. My favourite here is the far right one in #6. And #5 is a fun mix of retro and modern.

I'm not sure Sterling. I did already mix metals occasionally. I think it will help but can let you know as I wear it more. For the 3 ordinary work days so far this year, I've worn the old one! After 22 years it feels like part of me I guess.
Thanks for liking my vintage ones too. I'm not sure where that gold one came from- some were Mum's and some my husband's grandmother's. I like that they are quite dainty. I've tried the large watch trend when looking but my wrist is so small I felt they looked silly!

Your watch collection is gorgeous. I am most drawn to Number 4.

Your new watch is gorgeous. YAY you.

I am interested if this new piece will bridge the gap regarding mixing metals. If all it takes is one single pieces that incorporates two different metals, I'll go shopping today.

Great watch Jenni. I have 3 watches with mixed metals. I love the combination. Your vintage watch collection is beautiful. I love your manicure with the flower on your nail. Pretty.

You made an excellent choice, Jenni and yay, for Hubs buying it. I think #3 is really great, too.
Here's to mixed metals!

Congratulations on finding your new watch, which is lovely with very clean and simple lines and easy to read (which given you are counting pulses, is essential). This is a good lesson in patience.

I like all of the watches that you considered in 2016 (the Follie one was fun), but your final choice is much more of a classic style and gives you the versatility of wearing mixed metals.

I often select the presents that DH gives to me too!

Oh I REALLY like it! The one you chose definitely seems like the best of the bunch. Well done taking direction to your DH, lol! It looks modern to me but also seems like it could be at home in a vintage-inflected outfit.

Hi all, I've been looking seriously for a new watch for over a year. I wear one every day and use it at work to count pulses so it must have a second hand. I'm a yellow gold person since becoming aware of "seasons" in my early 20s thinking I was a spring. So my main watch has always been gold since my 1st wedding anniversary in 1987. That one got ruined in 1995 and replaced by the one I've worn since. I love vintage watches also and had a few, plus have felt uncomfortable mixing metals often ( have gold wedding and engagement ring, though the diamond cluster feels more silvery). I got my silver and light turquoise Pierre Cardin one on air points in 2004, but it isn't worn often. Now with a mixed metal choice I can ring the changes a bit more. I chose it but DH "gave it to me" for Christmas, yay.
Pic 1 new watch
Pic 2 22y old watch from 1995
Pic 3 Pierre Cardin from 2004
Pics 4 and 5 2 vintage inherited watches
Pics 6 and 7 the ones I didn't buy during 2016 but considered. The Follie Follie one was in Hawaii and had interchangeable surrounds which were pretty!
Pic 8, gold wedding ring and diamond cluster engagement ring, both over 31 years old.
Thanks for looking!
