Can you shorten the laces so they don't hang down quite so much? (A quick pass under a lighter's flame will keep the ends from ravelling).

Welcome April! The boots look awesome. I'd be inclined to let the laces hang down. But it would be good to see both alternatives in a visual, with your outfit. (And it might be outfit dependent, e.g. letting the laces hang down might look too "busy" with some outfits but not others. It's hard to make a general rule, I think.)

I think it depends on the outfit. Do they flop around? I like the idea of them untucked with jeans, but not if they flop around. I would tuck them in on anything but a plain skirt. (Hm, I'm not helping your stats.)

April - welcome! Those are nice boots. I'd love to see a picture of them in an outfit! I'm 5'4" with shortish legs and I have to keep everything pretty simple in order not to look squat. I like the idea of tucking the laces.

Thank you, ladies -- hmm, the votes on tucking in the laces are running 50-50. I was hoping for a landslide so I wouldn't have to decide for myself. :)

Love, love, love the Docs that I have seen everyone sporting on YLF. I don't think I can pull them off the way I see you all doing it, though. I had a pair years ago and on me (at 5'2") the effect was, shall we say, not svelte. Kind of along these lines: http://www.farmgoodsforkids.co.....amily.html

Still, seeing everyone else looking so great in them makes me tempted to try again...

I love them and Natural Comfort is a great brand. As for the laces, I don't think I'd be inclined to tuck them.

Very beautiful boots, I love the style for skirts and skinny jeans. Angie advices others to tuck the laces in on their Docs.

(This is my first post -- you don't know me, but I feel I know all of you! I have been following the forum conversations and Angie's writings on the site for a couple of months now and have finally decided to participate. You all have been such an inspiration.)

Anyway, my doorbell just rang -- we in the Northeast are having a Snow Day -- and the UPS man brought my new boots from 6pm: http://www.6pm.com/n/p/p/7374645/c/72.html
I think I originally found these by following a link someone posted here, and fell in love with them. I got the black ones. The plum leather ones seemed delicious, but I needed black boots and practicality won out.

I do have a question, though -- see how the laces are very long, to allow a droopy bow to hang down the front? Would you let them hang, or tuck them in for a neater look? My inclination is to tuck the laces in if I'm wearing the boots with a skirt, but leave them drooping if I'm wearing jeans. What are your thoughts?
