I’ve tried on a few over the past couple of years, but not many really appealed to me for one reason or another — high price point, shiny hardware, too fitted for layering under, too heavy, too delicate (you know that lovely soft leather that rips if you look at it wrong?), etc. I like that this one has ease in the fit and is not too precious. A little rugged and versatile, and a very appealing price point. And the option to wear as a vest! You really know your style. I have the plaid coat too, such a great piece. I wish I wouldn’t have hesitated because I think I’m probably in between sizes which is common for me, and couldn’t try my smaller size because it sold out so fast. So, it fits me looser in the shoulders but I don’t think it’s too overwhelming. I’m stalking the smaller size but it’s not looking like I’ll get it. I’m keeping it because I love it. Also, I’m wearing zero makeup in these photos so I look washed out (and wasn’t paying attention to my facial expressions so I look fairly goofy too). I prefer the brown version because it seems like it’s meant to be brown. It looks good with black underneath. Jenn does this Brown/black look quite well. But, as Angie says, it might be harder to style. You might have to hang on to it to see which one you reach for. I love the shoulders on the moto. It is really a good basic/essential. I’m wearing it here over a light sweater, and will try it with one additional layer underneath to be sure, but this is definitely not a winter coat, but an outfit completer/third piece. But I’m going to definitely consider Angie’s suggestion to simply move the buttons over a bit. The fit across the shoulders and back is good. The less enthusiastic support of the convertible moto doesn’t surprise me, but it’s not as statement-y as other pieces. I am considering this as a more essential/basic item — I like the lack of shiny hardware for this reason. A simple classic black jacket that can be worn with other statements to let them shine. I have a number of “statement” motos and other jackets and sometimes want a black one that’s more basic (I have a grey one that gets a lot of wear). But I’m considering carefully. The shearling really has a different character depending on color, doesn’t it? I’m not 100% sure of my decision yet, so I appreciate all opinions! Stunning. Very useful neutral style too. I had one like that and ended up reaching for it far more than anticipated (to the point that I later shopped for winter accessories in lighter shades). The black is also nice, but somehow in the black, the style looks slouchy and more common. I'd like to see a jacket that is a bit shorter or coser to the body. #5-7: Now that's what I'm talking about! So you! So feminine too, yet simple and practical.  #8-11: Definitively you. Very flattering.  #12-15: Coat or topper? Is the material heavy enough? As a coat, it looks nice. I would size up. I made the mistake of buying an XS jacket during the summer (I'm between XS and S) and then discover in the fall and winter that it was too snug to accommodate for sweaters and toppers underneath.  #16-20: Wonderful additions! You gorgeous creature.  Have to say that you ROCK the brown Aviator Avec Les Filles as much as the black..... - but get that the black is easier to wear for your style. KILLER x2.  Plaid coat - as long as you can lightly layer underneath, it's good. The button position is an easy adjustment for the bust. Coats MUST close, but this is more of a looooonnnng blazer for you - so keeping it open to achieve a better fit is okay. (Unless you want to try a size up?). GORGEOUS on you. Love the tops. #19 is KILLER to the Power of KILLER. You wear that much better than the model. I'm WOWED.  Make sure the Pliners are comfy. It almost makes me reconsider...but I *think* I’ll just end up reaching for the black more. It would be ideal to hang onto both until cold weather arrives, to see which I gravitate towards, but that means returning one at the very earliest in October, and even then, October is not really cold enough around here to warrant such a coat. I think it will feel good on a cold day. Considering that the roomy cut allows for layering underneath, I think it would be pretty suitable for a cold winter. I love a lug sole loafer — I’ve darn near worn out my Paul Greens from a couple of years ago (had to get the sole repaired so they still have some life in them), so I think the reptile print will get some good wear. I like the texture and I don’t mind a little bit of white mixed into my footwear, even though I don’t care for all-white shoes on me. I love the idea of tone on tone dots!
