Yess! I see the SP fits and looks better -so keep! I love and use blacks very much but think for us fair blondes it is hard to find the right leather jacket in this color(subtle shine like here helps a lot!).
If between sizes and in doubt I always bet for sizing up- but not so for the statement deep black hard edge clothing item like here (or a denim jacket for ex) where I end up looking and feeling better usually in the smaller size.

Karen, from experience this one definitely stretches. The SP was initially tight across the back in the shoulder area, but stretched out quite a bit each time I tried it on again. And the XSP has already stretched a bit (especially around the elbows) since I tried it on when it arrived last night! The XSP is much slimmer in the arms overall, so the arms seemed a bit tight last night... today, not so much.

That does make me a bit nervous, that it'd stretch that easily. But I'm willing to take the risk I think.

Yay for being picky about fit and persistent . The XSP looks great and will be even better over dresses with the more cropped length. Wear it a while to confirm the stretch, I don’t own any leather garments so had forgotten about the stretch factor.

All the great leather motors yLFers are posting are making me envious, but they just haven’t seemed practical for my snowy climate. May need to rethink my past rejection

That is a much better fit! You're absolutely right, the bunching up at the shoulders and neckline is usually the result of a too-big armhole. Ironically, a smaller/higher armhole allows for the greatest freedom of movement. A large, low armhole means that your sleeves are kind of glued down to your sides, and the whole jacket comes up and tries to choke you when you raise your arms. It looks like the XSP has a higher armhole that fits you much better. I'm so glad you tried again!

For comparison here is the SP again, with same outfit and better light...

I think you can see the arms are much longer. This one is looser all over. The thing that bugs me is what happens when I raise my arms --- it bunches up at the shoulders/neckline -- and stays bunched up --- until I yank it down. This is why I ordered the XSP to compare.

P.s. I am not worried about layering over thick sweaters.

Here is the XSP leather jacket: it is more cropped (just above belt line with high-waisted jeans) so it eliminates that wrinkle in the lower back. The sleeves are PERFECT length. It does not do that weird riding up/bunching up thing at the neck when I raise my arms. I think the scale of the collar is also slightly smaller. It still zips and doesn't feel too tight, though I wouldn't say it's loose. I can still cross my arms. I think the armholes are cut higher as well. It is more slim fitting but it'll stretch right?

(Excuse mess behind me-- I'm doing a Fall closet declutter)

Lyn67, the dress is Connected from Macy's. Was quite inexpensive! I bought it back in December to wear in Tampa for our wedding anniversary -- wore it with a faded jean jacket over it. Really loved how that looked. The dress is super comfy. The metallic is actually a mix of silver *and* gold.

The shoes are Camper, several years old. Very high heels but somehow I am able to wear them -- and dance in them -- for hours.

The red clutch was a gift from my DD, it's from Italy, from her trip abroad a few years ago.

Wow, Shiny- love the wedding outfit, so glam! Love your choice of a nude sandal and red clutch to the silver sheath (am in love with the texture -which acts like a subtle woven pattern-a print I am continuously searching for!!!). I also love cowl necks, an have a few me too.
Another wow for the multistrain pearls on a black cord-a little edge to all the elegance!
Love the try on picties of the black leather jacket, too-love the nude patent pumps:-) and think jacket is fab but maybe an XS will be even better if it still fit in the shoulders, leather stretches after your own body, pls. post again when you get it!

I decided to order the XSP just to compare. Why? Because every time I put it on, it seems to have stretched some more. For example when I first tried it on right out of the box, it was a bit tight in the shoulders across the back when I'd cross my arms in front of me. Now it's not tight at all there.

Also, when I raise my arms up, it bunches around my neck and I have a hunch that has something to do with the armholes and/or shoulder fit? And the sleeves may be just a pinch too long. Plus that wrinkling in the lower back which I didn't notice until I took pics. I don't want it to be skin tight when I zip it, but there does seem to be plenty of extra room right now (can put two fists in the waistband), so perhaps a size smaller will work better, especially if it's going to stretch this much.

Will post more comparison pics when XSP arrives -- unless it's obviously too small, in which case I'll keep this one, as I don't mind it being roomy.

Wowza - the fit of the jacket is great, and it looks divine (as does the dress)! I doubt the XS would have a nice a drape, but pinch in about 2 inches in the back to get an idea if it might work. That is what I do with pants when I'm debating sizing down.

During this try-on I did wonder if maybe I could size down in this, as it has already seemed to stretch out a bit, but in the pics I do see some wrinkling in the lower back which a smaller size may not have as maybe it'd be even shorter. The waist is quite loose on me -- I can fit a fist or two, not tight at all. But then I think with layers this may be just right. I don't know. You tell me.

This is the small petite. Should I order the XSP for comparison? I am worried it then wouldn't fit in my shoulders and bust, then again it's leather so it could stretch.
