We will be looking for a red skirt together!

You have a feminine body, and your other post is about a floral dress. But I actually see that strong lines, sportswear, boyishness, and graphic prints are your strong suit. At least that's what I think. So I love....

the red striped sweater
the black and white dress
the white henley-type top
the hoodie tops, based on structure only. If I were to choose one, the blue, definitely.

I still have a Large to try at the Rack in a few days. Based on how the bust size didn't change noticeably between small and medium, I'm not sanguine, but I will still try it.

Really? That's funny! I like spread collars on me but don't often find them in a top I can use much.

The sweater is bulkier than I usually tuck in, and I suspect I wouldn't like it not tucked. But I'd try it, if I had a red skirt! I've been keeping an eye out for a good wool or corduroy to fall into my path. That kind of coordination - patterned top, bottom in one of the smaller colors - is my favorite kind of matching.

As for the pink striped sweater, it's cute! Can you wear it with a red skirt?

kkhards, I agree about wrap dresses. The only one I've found that really works is the floral Gibson & Latimer from Dillard's. The skirt is extremely full, and the bodice is well-cut also.

Thanks, Jaime! I'm glad the pink and orange seems to work. I like the feel of it, too. I'm also OK that the wrap tops don't come in a good color for me; I tend to prioritize look over comfort so I would probably buy anyway and end up regretting.

Angie, I know! I didn't consider it until I saw your review and really thought it was perfect for me! It's really the small bust I think that keeps it from working. The waist is snug but that's how I wear things. And I love the sleeves. Thanks for the thumbs up on the polo collar top.

Suz, I always look forward to your comments! And I'm not as good at commenting but I always read your posts with interest. You're so good at analyzing what works for you and why!
I wouldn't wear the striped sweater with anything but jeans, and there's not much variation for me. They're a staple, but only for cool weather weekends, and not every day, so I don't need a bunch of variety (and they're hard to find). That said, is there another color or cut that you'd recommend with it?

Sal, completely. If I were making this design for myself it would be great. I'd have to use a full bust adjustment (which I've never had to do before!), and possibly add 1" to the length of the bodice. And I wouldn't cutaway the under part of the skirt. It's definitely designed to flash leg occasionally. I'm not ashamed of my legs - but I'm not worried about showing them! I've had enough near-total showings with non-wrap dresses due to our windy prairie.
The hoodies are so comfy, no riding up or adjustment necessary. I wish I could wear them now! It's tantalizing shopping for cold weather in the hottest part of the year.

April, so right! Faux wraps give back that security. It's anxious to wear something that might flip back completely without warning. It's been gusting well over 20 mph all week!

Excellent reviews.

The dress looks excellent but wrap dresses are problematic with reveals..... It's an almost though......I suspect the problem is the cut not the size.

I like the hoodie especially in the blue. I like the striped sweater in the smaller size. I agree the larger oversize shape is not as good.

Those cropped hoodies are fantastic on you! I admire your dedication to finding the cuts that have potential for you -- the dress promised to be wonderful, but it's clearly not workable. Too bad!

I love your reviews and always read them even if the item isn't one that's on my radar. Thank you for taking the time to give your full imprressions of each item.

I'm not sure about the striped sweater. I would say try it with other bottoms (if you'd wear others with it) and compare its weight to others in the closet.

I really like the polo on you, though -- that pale pink is lovely on you.

Love the copped hoodies! Adorable on you :)

Sooo disappointed about the dress! It had your name on it, Ginger! I like the fabric and silhouette for high Summer because it's covered for the sun, and VERY lightweight and breezy. It does run snug on the mid section. Clients sized up. I think my size US8/10 client was in a large.

I like the polo collar top too! Great fit and length

The cropped hoodies are fab. I have a slight preference for the blue, but the pink is good too.
The pink/ orange is a great fit & color combo is nice. A definite keeper in my book.
I love the idea of wrap dresses but have found unless they are very well designed/engineered there’s just too much opportunity for a wardrobe malfunction

Thank you, Star! This very pale pink almost functions as a neutral for me.

Column, thanks for the validation! I remembered that my pink faux leather jacket is starting to fall apart, so the pink hoodie actually is a replacement.

Jenny, I'm unbalanced naturally; I guess I don't care about correcting that. In this case it's particularly the thick roll of material that forms at the high hip with the larger size.

Thank you, unfrumped! They're the surprise of this NAS for me.

Some really nice items here! I’m with you on not so many appealing colors this NAS.

Now you have me considering whether I could use a cropped hoodie…

I love the dress on you but I so see how the slit could make it impractical. As for the pink sweater, I think both sizes look great on you but I prefer the oversized. It looks more balanced to me but it sounds like it doesn’t feel like “you” so I can absolutely get behind your preference.

Finally a lot of my purchases have arrived; some took over a week to be shipped! I'll be able to go to a Rack soon and try on one last thing I'm unsure about.
Pickings were slim from my perspective. I didn't look at footwear since I have no needs in that area. Most of the colors were black, gray, or earth tones; none of those tempt me.

Keep

BR Cropped Hoodie in blue. This hoodie fits like my cropped cardigans, so wearable over skirts and dresses, but gives a very different vibe. It's also cozy and very comfortable. I've already worn this one.

Pastel Ankle Socks. These will be a slipper substitute for slightly chilly mornings or A/C moments. I have a lot of footie socks, but they're a little small and make my toenails hurt, of all strange things. These are roomy, and have a terry cloth lining for extra coziness.

Skarlett Blue Bra in pale pink. I'm keeping this since I've worn it, but I'm slightly regretting it; it's a tiny bit small at the moment (though that should change). I'm not really at a need for bras at the moment but this one is remarkably comfortable. It's a new brand to me and I'm glad I've tried it.

Returns

Wayf Wrap Sweater. The cropped fit is great and I love the bishop sleeves. I did find it a little itchy (though that is hard to assess in July) and I'm concerned by how low the wrap is in front. But most of all, I don't like any of the colors. This burnt sienna is okay, but I know I wouldn't reach for it. The green one is similarly too olive.

En Saison asymmetric shirt dress in blue stripe. I tried this because of Angie's recommendation. I'm usually between a Small and Medium in tops and dresses. Because I was stalking, I ordered the Small when it became available, and then the Medium a few days later. The Small was laughably small! I'm really surprised. The Medium arrived today and though I could actually zip it up, it wasn't otherwise improved:
- True high waist, not the natural/actual high waist. I am not long-waisted! It's not a flattering line with this cut.
- Small bust. I am not particularly large-busted.
- Wrap skirt is cut back to minimize the coverage. In my windy locale, this guarantees a very revealing wardrobe malfunction.
- Still quite small waist. Measured flat, the waistband was 29" on the Medium, with no wiggle room. Also, being a high waist, it doesn't hit me at my narrowest point.
I ordered the Large after trying on the Small, but now after trying the Medium I don't think it will improve enough to be wearable. What I really like:
- The sleeves, full and with tucks. (Not pleats, as Nordstrom calls them!)
- The fabric, which is very smooth and light, almost silky for cotton. The reviews calling it "cheap" are making the fallacy of equating "heavy" with "thick."

Expandable Jewelry Case in pink. I really wanted to like this. It's an unusual design, I have lots of travel cases but nothing really like this, I've run into issues needing a larger travel jewelry case for bulkier items. It's actually bigger than I expected. And it's weird that although the inside has three comparments, plus a couple of zippered ones, the three vertical dividers don't actually connect to the bottom! So anything but very thick bracelets will shift around anyway. I could sew them down, but I've rethought spending $30 for a too-large case that I really don't need and have to alter.

Keep/Return?

Caslon pink and red stripe cotton sweater. This is supposed to be oversized, so I sized down to XS. I was surprised how much I liked its shape and fit. The cotton knit feels good on as well. Usually this shade of pink is too bright/cool for me, but maybe the orange-red stripe warms it up enough. I'm hesitating because of budget and because technically I don't need it. It doesn't duplicate anything else I have, though, and may allow me to let go of some other sweaters. (The third picture shows the Medium, which arrived today. It confirms I'm not a fan of oversized.)

Caslon pale pink thermal polo. I don't have a long sleeve shirt in this very pale pink, the collar is distinctive, and the thermal knit is quite comfortable and a good weight and feel. Against, I do have a lot of long sleeve tees in many shades (thought not this one), and it's thin enough to show through my jeans. I wish it were a wee bit thicker to be warmer. The Small fits better than the Medium.

BR Cropped Hoodie in pink. This is the same as the blue one, but not on sale. I got so excited to see this color I ordered it as well! I don't strictly need it yet; but cute short jackets are a perpetual HEWI so I have a hard time of resisting. I'm thinking of returning and re-ordering hopefully if it goes on sale in the future, to save the money. Not sure at this point. There's also an ivory one I have on my wishlist.

Persun white cropped cardigan. White is the one cardigan color I don't really have, so I'm giving this a shot. I'll try it at the Rack tomorrow. I ordered both Small and Medium.

Any thoughts are welcome!
