Thanks kellygirl - may be right about the stretching as the leather is very soft. It is really fun to see this jacket on so many different people. I'm not sure I've heard Angie chime in much on this jacket item - maybe we're not being PPP enough...but heck, a girls gotta have fun with fashion, right?

Looks groovy! I love your idea of the snap extender, and if it stretches as Kelly suggests, you may be able to snap it normally later.

It looks great to me--both opened and closed! I have to say that it's really cool to see this jacket on so many different people. With the stretch panels and the nature of leather, do you think the jacket might loosen up a little on its own making a snap relocation unnecessary?

It looks great! I had exactly the same issue with the closure. At first I thought it was just because I am short waisted but now I think it's just a design issue.

The snap extender sounds like an interesting idea; I will be curious to see how that turns out! I don't know where I'd go to get snaps put into leather... I don't think I've ever seen any clothing in my cobbler's shop, and I'm not sure the tailor at the dry cleaners would be able to do it. Ceit posted a tutorial on my post for DIY snaps, but it requires some tools, plus I couldn't figure out how to add the snap to just the leather without punching it through the fabric part too.

ETA: I actually liked the look of mine best when I held it closed ABOVE the existing snap (so with the closure on my boob, rather than under it), but I don't think an extender could accomplish that.

What a great deal! And it looks like you chose the perfect size, too. It looks great on you (too bad you will have to wait a while before wearing it). How nice to have a genuine leather jacket that you can just toss on and not worry about. I love your idea for adding a snap. You can bet I'm filing that bit of information away for future reference, thanks!

Isis, glad you like the snap extender idea! Mine feels good on the shoulders - it's not loose, but not tight where I can't move my arms easily. No wrinkling in back. I feel like the 10 might have overwhelmed me just a bit. I don't layer leather over sweaters because I live in a very warm climate so I wasn't looking for an oversized fit. I'm happy I went with the 8 in this one.

Texstyle---The "snap extender" is a fantastic idea! I'm going to play around with that too! Alternatively, if you decide to add a snap, Diane was thinking of adding one up higher, along the bustline. That would make mine drape better too.

How is the jacket fitting you through the shoulders? For me, I would like to try a 10 and I'm so glad I didn't order a 6!

Ceit - I imagine it will be perfect for you!
Eliza - yes I think we're all noticing the snap location issue.
Isis, I'm not sure yet on the snap but I have 2 ideas. One is to add a small black fabric "snap extender" if you will where there is a snap on both ends, one attaches to the existing snap and the other faces outward for closure -- the other would be an actual attached snap. The first would be less risky and I might even manage making it myself.

Saturday's mail filled my box out front with a rather large package.
For $33 including shipping, I also could not resist trying this black
leather jacket, and I'm glad I did. Not really a K/R because I think it fits well, feels great and will be used a lot in my casual lifestyle. I won't feel like I have to "worry" about it getting messed up.

Excuse the shorts with the leather jacket - it's 101 here so I just didn't have the motivation to style it properly.

I ordered the smaller of the two sizes I normally choose for jackets (I
ordered the 8) and I am happy to report it fits well with a few tweaks.
The sleeves may be just a bit long, though not in a bothersome
way and the snap in front does fall at an odd spot - just a bit too
tight and makes the bottom of the jacket not lay properly (in my eyes).
I think I will see about adding another snap just about 2 inches over
to give my midsection the room I think it really needs for this jacket
to sit properly at the bottom. When I hold it that way it looks SO much
better. I wish I had photographed it that way for you to see.

Pic One - Undone - the way I would wear it 90% of the time
Pic Two - Snapped but could use about 2 inches more room to look right (sorry for the blurry shot)
