There are quite a number of dresses that are significant to me, stretching way back, starting with my christening gown. There are a series of them, tho, that my father had made for me or bought me - starting (in memory) with my 5th birthday party dress and ending with my prom dress. <br /><br />It's funny, my mother cared that we had nice clothes, nothing that would get us teased. This included party clothes, but at the same time she was rather hostile to "special dresses." Like the prom dress. My dad saved the day on many occasions like that. For me, it is an anthropologie dress from a few years back that was my first real foray into wearing tighter clothing and not being ashamed of my body. It started the "pearshaped" fashion trend for me if you will.
