I am going to keep wearing them with thicker &amp; thicker socks to get them to stretch in the calves. Strangely one is tighter than the other so I must have odd sized calves. The color bookends your hair color. I also vote to not stretch the shaft. They do not look like they fit too tight there. Some Frye boots run rather large in the foot. Make sure you are happy with that fit before wearing them outside. I have several pair of Frye boots, some run very large and I wish I had exchanged them for a smaller size. I have to wear thick socks with those boots but still they are too loose in the foot for my liking and I feel trippy while walking. I'm pretty sure the Jane's run large so I got a half size down. That worked for me anyway. Maybe you should check with your cobbler for his opinion on the fit for you.<br /> Congratulations on your purchase of beautiful Frye boots. I was a little nervous putting them on though because I was so concerned about them fitting my calves properly, but how I am in love with them! The leather is top notch, maybe a little stiff but I guess they will loosen up a bit with wear. The only downside is that they are a tad large in the foot (I ordered up a size from normal) and the calves are firm, more firm on the right calf for some reason but I was wearing them around the house last night with my ski socks on and I think they've loosened already. I'm considering taking them to a cobbler to get the calves stretched out so I can wear my skinnies with them. </p> <p>I took these before work this morning so excuse the hiked up trousers! </p>
