I am not sure about dress over pants with this one because the waist is so high and sewn into the dress - you’d have to wear some pretty high-waisted pants to avoid lines and lumps from the pants hitting lower underneath, KWIM? Also, it’s fitted in the skirt part. </p> <p>And it’s a longer dress (i ordered the talls, i’m 5’10”). The proportions might be off with pants, depending on your taste. If you try the dress, love to hear your thoughts! I will continue to post. In the Texas summer, my most important style objective is to stay cool and comfortable, and I also try to keep much of my skin covered from the sun, so the shirtdresses are great for that. Luckily, my workplace is pretty casual, so I am free to wear sneakers, sandals, denim, etc.</p> <p>Lisa P, sorry you missed out on the Boden dress - bummer. One thing if anyone is interested in the dress - some of the reviewers complained about how high-waisted it is. If button-downs are my fall/winter uniform, shirtdresses are my summer jam.<br /> I’m wearing the Freya dress from Boden in the first two pics - I also have it in navy.<br /> The plaid dress was marketed by J. Crew as a beach cover-up, but it isn’t see-through and it’s perfect for 100 degree days. And it’s decidedly not neutral. I feel great in it.<br /> The third outfit is an Anthropologie faux-wrap skirt and a Madewell swing top. Not sure about the demi-tuck, but I think it’s a little long for the skirt otherwise.<br /> All comments/suggestions welcome!<br /> I’m really grateful for this community and so, here I am, finally! </p>
