I love the second outfit. The first is good too, but I would also be tempted to try it without the belt. If you want to reign in the volume of the dress, you could try tying the belt loosely behind you (like you might for a coat). But I tend to find this uncomfortable when sitting. YLF! Glad I finally got the pictures figured out. I'll try for better lighting next time :) The dress is pretty full without a belt, it has pockets which I like but it makes it a little bulky but I'll definitely try it next time. I just edited my pictures and replaced them, see if that helps. I can try taking them with the curtain closed and the lights on and see if that helps too. I did try the dress with other belts but wasn't crazy about it. What a good idea to chop off the sleeves! I always figure if I'm not wearing something anyway, I don't have anything to lose. I recently learned from one of Chris' threads that I could adjust the light on my pictures. It made a big difference in people being able to see anything in my pictures. In picture 1 do you see the dial on the center right? If you click on it, in picture 2, you can adjust the amount, and also correct the color. I had never noticed the dial before! Also, you can crop some of the background. The layering is great and love the white jeans. It would look good with white shoes, too, but these are terrific with the sweater -- giving the look cohesion.  Smart move cropping the sleeves on the dress. The green shirtdress is a Gap dress but I got it from ThredUp, a used online store, last summer. It had long sleeves and I never wore it. This spring I figured out that there was just too much fabric for me, so I cut off and hemmed the sleeves and now I love it. I know it's not terribly flattering because of the tied waist but I think I like it anyway. I tried it with leather belts but it just didn't work. I need the sweater for inside in the A/C but I do like it better without. The second is my Friday look inspired by Tanya's post of wearing a shirt over a long sleeve shirt (I think it was Tanya!)The black and white shirt underneath was also from last year and seldom worn but I like it with this sweater worn as a vest. Maybe it'll get more use this year. My sandals are new BOC's, inspired by the looks I have seen here and I have already gotten a lot of use out of them. In the past I would have thought I had to have white shoes to match my jeans. Sorry the light is bad in these but this is the only place I have a full length mirror. Any comments are welcome. I am somewhat new here and looking for advice and inspiration. Thanks everyone!
