Welcome! You look fabulous! Maybe some tweaks here and there as the ladies have suggested, but I think you are a quick learner and are ready to knock their socks off at your upcoming event.

Welcome!

Congrats on the weight loss. I'm rebuilding my wardrobe too. Just posted a long one called something like Cycles of life and closets - got some good tips there that might work for you.

I love it that you embrace color, I do, too. And your hair is gorgeous (I have long hair envy since chopping mine a year ago).

Take care and hope to see more of you around the forum

Everyone is so nice to take the time to comment.
@Suz - I'm going to go home tonight an look at my earthy pieces. Getting dressed is so fun these days!
@Shemarie - I made an appointment for a haircut today AND....I went to our green room (our business includes television production and tried to put a bedn in my hair!)
@kkards - Thank you for the compliment. These pants are Michael Kors that I scored for $45 last weekend. The little bit of stretch makes a big difference I think.
@MaryK - You just made me grin!

Update - I had ordered a pair of leopard pumps from Nine West and they were delivered to the office today. I went to try them on.....and I kinda like the way they work with this red jacket I'm wearing today.

Congratulations on your weight loss and your first WIWs. How could your friends and clients not be wowed...you look great! Add me to the list of those loving #1/2. I like it both with and without the sweater - very artful, soft, and chic! And I think your hair is wonderful...so beautiful and thick, both up (very soft and elegant) or down! Well done!

Welcome AngieT. I just love your attitude! And your hair is gorgeous in #1/2. Like Angie, I really love you in those soft earthy colours as well -- just lovely on you. The whole outfit is great, with or without the EF sweater jacket.

Congratulations on your weight loss. You will find lots of good company here. Many of us have arrived on the forum after losing weight and needing tips to help dress our new bodies. Myself included.

All your outfits work really well. I like #4 best without the jacket. #5 is fun. It seems as if you're not afraid of bright colour and you enjoy the zip it gives. So that might be part of your style, moving forward.

JAileen, my hair is a hot mess right now. Thank you for the encouragement on weight loss. I still want to lose about 20 more pounds. Just wish I could control where it comes off! I have no fanny left and pants without some stretch just bag in the rear, but I still experience size L shirts gaping at the button across the chest. But hey, I'm not complaining!

I LOVE your outfits! The pop of the leopard scarf against the neutrals is fabulous, and the pink pants with the navy on top look great. My only suggestion would be to try the front faux-tuck instead of the side version. Your figure is great, and the side tuck just doesn't highlight that as well. Welcome!

Hey Ya'll!
I'm new to the forum but have been lurking for a month or so. I have recently lost almost 50 lbs (yay me!) and have found myself in need of almost an entirely new wardrobe. When I was heavier I was always dressing to hide things, so this is a new experience for me. It's been fun and I've gotten a lot of good ideas about building the right wardrobe from the blog and also the forum.

So I'm a little nervous about posting, but finally decided to take the plunge and hope I fit in here in this community.. I work in media/events and have my biggest event of the year coming up in 2 weeks. It will be the first time most of my friends and clients have seen me since my weight loss and I really want to look good. (vanity?) So this week and next I'm having my own little "dress rehearsal" on what I will wear the week of the event. I'm taking new outfits and pairings for a test drive and want to get opinions & suggestions from you guys.

1 - Monday I was trying to incorporate some an old piece into my new finds. I bought this black pencil skirt that I love and paired it with a oatmeal colored cashmere sweater and an Eileen Fisher jacket that I have worn many times.
2 - My sister says (lovingly) that I need to stop wearing big drapey jackets since I have lost weight. She encouraged me to take the jacket off and see how I felt without it. I'm not sure how I felt.
3 - We've had a long cold winter here in the midsouth, so I decided to break out this pair of Joe Fresh polka dot pants. i love the color. And the jacket is new and a little more fitted.
4 - I took a photo without the jacket. Sister again.
5 - Today I'm wearing a brand new red blazer that I really love. In spite of the fact that this little exercise makes me realize I really, really need a haircut before my event, I like this look. Although one of my boys (teenager) sweetly pointed out to me this morning that I had forgotten to tuck in half my shirt. I love this jacket so much that it seems pointless to take a photo without it.

I would love our thoughts on the jacket/no jacket question. And any other suggestions. I am redefining my style so I feel like a blank canvas. As I mentioned, I've been doing a lot of research here about how to do start a new wardrobe the right way. Ya'll let me know if I haven't dome something the right way in terms of forum etiquette. I haven't commented before because I feel like ya'll know so much more than I do. But I really want to be a productive member of this group!
