I don't think I saw any of those, but like the looks of them all for the niche you're trying to fill. The texture/material of #3, with the slight shimmer, looks especially cool.

Thank you for your help - Karie seeing you model the jackets is fantastic! I am still leaning toward #3 and am happy to hear it is not stiff. Hope I will have some more twins here!

Thanks so much for posting these. My teenage daughter found an all - leather Trouve jacket over the weekend but I balked at the $200+ price tag (especially since she took over my vintage authentic motorcycle jacket last year). These look like great alternatives. Sadly, we don't wear the same size because I'm eyeing that VC one myself.

I saw #2 in person, and it was more of a blazer than an outdoor jacket, in my opinion, in both shortness and in fabric. It would not be my pick for an outdoor jacket style wise, even if it might be warm enough in your climate. 1 and 3 are more coat-ish if you know what I mean.

Oh, I'm sorry, I see now that you want <$100, so this jacket doesn't meet that criterion.

Here is one other jacket to consider. I tried it on (in a size too large) in the store and even though it wasn't the right size, it was really much more beautiful than in the picture - the leather is very soft and drapes nicely. I have it on order in my size. I notice that Angie has collected it in her finds, so I anticipate it will be one of her picks. It comes in 3 colors.

I think the difference is whether you want the alternative of zipping a jacket or not. If that's important to you, #1 won't let you zip but #3 will. The VC jacket is really more of a knit overall with coating on the fabric; it looks more stiff and substantial than it truly is, and IMO it's a bit more of a casual jacket than #1. I love both, they are nearly year round workhorses in my climate, and can heartily recommend them whatever you choose. As I mentioned, I duplicated the Kut jacket in black this year, and if the VC jacket came in a different shade like burgundy or cream, I'd probably have duplicated it as well.

Oh! And I have a similar version to the Vince Camuto jacket with the zipper. Mine has more of a snakeskin foil print. Knit arms. Looks stiffer than it is; it's actually quite a cozy asymmetrical moto jacket. Runs smaller than the Kut one, but that's because I want it to zip and my bust is quite large.

I got the Kut jacket, and my mom and sister ordered it too. I have it in dark brown from last year and am thrilled to have it in black as well.

I got it last year in an XL and opted for an XL this year as well. I really could have easily worn an L if that was all that was available. It is forgiving/running large since you won't be fastening it up. I think that the arms in the L were snugger than I would like when I'm wearing layers (light knits/sweaters) underneath it, for ease of putting on/taking off with long sleeves, so I opted to size up. (I think the L is actually what was pictured on my post; visually there wasn't a lot of difference between them.

My mom and sister sized down (a M was too long in the arms for their preferences.)

Last year's brown version pictured here:

I am shopping NAS early and long distance this year. One goal is to find a fairly lightweight jacket that will work as an indoor/outdoor jacket for the very mild winter it is often colder inside than outdoors in full sun.

I have narrowed it down to three contenders but welcome other suggestions. I am looking for under $100 and short length. Basically I want it to function as an alternative to my denim jacket, which was my most worn jacket last winter.

If anyone has seen them in person and knows anything about how the size runs and the quality let me know. I won't receive until the end of the summer when my family is coming to visit but am counting on Nordstrom's return policy in case it doesn't work out. Thanks for looking!
