This dress was $15 at the clearance rack in late 2008 at H&amp;M. Isn't that a steal? Sometimes budget retailers do things right. It is starting to pill a bit but I will continue to wear it for a while. I do love my jersey dresses, and I think it's because my torso is long, and the jersey is quite flexible (woven dresses can be such a challenge).<br /> As for the professor comments, I agree, many professors dress badly, but my college is in Manhattan, and most of the professors (and support staff) dress pretty well (no bad mom jeans and bobble jumpers in this institution). I bet you were the talk of the moment amongst the students (and I mean that in a good way!).</p> <p>When I think back to my uni days, I have nightmarish (said tongue in cheek) images of my lecturers who would wear too tight "mum jeans" with equally awful patterned "bobble" jumpers and white tennis shoes - I scratch my head and ask "How?" "Why?" A life in academia and caring about one's appearance surely can't be mutually exclusive?
