I also have items from North Face, Patagonia, and the REI house brand. And occasionally I have seen nice travel items at Costco, of all places! (As Angie says, "leave no retail stone unturned!")</p> <p>In the Before Time we tried to do at least a short trip every quarter so our Space Clothes got a pretty good workout. Now they are largely just hanging in the closet. I realized that I would do better with a curated,&nbsp; identifiable travel capsule ( and seasonal variations thereof). I am not wedded to technical fabrics only--instead I have been identifying several types of fabrics and garments that just perform well for various reasons. These issues include need for some zipper pockets for security, "wardrobe malfunction-proof" fits and lengths, layers for changing temps during the day.</p> <p>&nbsp;And especially now that I am retired, I have plans for overlap with items I might wear every week--one reason is so that I don't just have a group of clothes going unused for 6 months and then go," uh oh, these don't fit". But also, I will clearly gravitate toward move movement, stretch, flat footwear and hope to run a smaller wardrobe overall. Here we are in hot, humid Cambodia on the banks of the Mekong River, in head-to-toe technical fabric traveling clothes, accessorized with the traditional Cambodian krama scarf. I never thought synthetic fabrics would be good for this climate but I learned my lesson on my first trip to Southeast Asia! </p>
