Yes it is hard to work out how high to crop.  I'm letting my boots be the guide. I hear you about the heat.  Even here, it is a little too hot in the afternoon for trousers still but cool enough in the mornings.  Thank you Jonesy - I really enjoyed your post with the cuffed pants the other day and I'm looking forward to the long coats with cropped pants. I think the first dark pair look great cuffed, but you could also get them shortened a bit, so you can keep a small cuff (or have them hemmed to where you'd like them). I love the faded jeans! I really like a frayed hem, so I would cuff them like they are or cut them off and keep the frayed hem, but if that's not your thing, then by all means have them hemmed. They look great. I agree with others that it can be fun to rotate different shapes and silhouettes around, but have lots of options for the right situation (skinnies work great tucked into taller or mid-calf boots in the winter, for example). I’m trying to adapt to the cropped pants trend but am having difficulty figuring out which length & which leg width will look best & still be cool & comfortable in the hot climate I’m moving to. I also don’t love skinnies anymore but plan to keep wearing them because they are just so much more practical in winter here (due to snow, dirty splashing salty slush, etc). My plan for next winter is to think about long, more statement-y toppers for my skinnies such that they function more like leggings in my outfits. Maybe even dresses (I wear certain dresses over skinny jeans to dinner etc in deep winter). Definitely wear them. I never was a great skinny Jean person but did wear them. Mine have all given up now but I wear ponte leggings which are the same shape when I need to wear gumboots in winter. Yes sometimes we admire a style on others but don't think that its "me". @runcarla - yes I always have slim legs and its probably why I have adopted the skinny jeans. I have started wearing my new boots and wore with skinny jeans last week. However after seeing a photo decided I didn’t like the silhouette anymore. After seeing Jonesy’s great post with cropped pants, I was inspired to try myself. The 1st 2 photos are a pair of pants I have struggled to style with shoes and the hem. I tucked the cuff. Should I crop the pants or leave as it is. Photo 3 is a pair of Levi’s originals with raw hem. I think I will get them hemmed up into a crop cut. Lastly, my skinny jeans and boots…I don’t like the style anymore. Maybe it’s my age or a changing eye. Thoughts or suggestions?
