Lisap: I'm going to try on the JCrew white straights to be sure. Smart.

Texstyle: You are so right -- but it's mostly the factory versions I have trouble with. No more JCrew factory jeans for me. Even still, it's always good for me to be reminded not to jump too soon with JCrew. I can be really easily drawn in.

Olivegreen and Marilyn: Maybe I should read the Marie Kondo book on my Kindle.

I think it makes perfect sense to move on from those that don't make you feel your best.

Your decision to purge so many jcrew jeans makes me wonder if jcrew jeans always have fit issues... just a side thought if you're going to invest in more.

I'm always on a Project 333 plan - in my head I don't know what it is about jeans that we think we need to keep them even if they don't fit/we don't like them etc. I'm famous for that . Will happily get rid of everything else, but denim? Nope. Not sure what that's all about. Your plan sounds fine - nothing drastic. You'll be left with one pair of white denim though - is that enough? I know you like white, correct?

Totally agree with Olivegreen. If something isn't making you happy then ditching it is a solid plan. I'm in the process of editing my own denim collection and replacing as needed.

I know what Marie Kondo would say :-)
Ditch the stuff that does not make you happy, if you can afford it.
And with 8 pair, you can probably afford it. I suppose most of us could lose half the closet, and of it was the half that did not say nice things about us when we wore them, that might be good.
I like that you are already planning the updates.
You do not seem crazy, nor illogical.

I feel a closet purge / project 333 coming on; something about spring and wanting to start anew I think.

I am starting with my denim, and a careful look makes me want to purge/thrift half the collection. Here is the rundown. Does this plan seem sane to you?

Thrift:
1. Gray Kut skinny (worn-out looking)
2. Black Paige straight (had them hemmed, hate how they fit)
3. JCrew blue skinny (feel too sausage-y)
4. JCrew white skinny crop (get too stretched out when I wear them)
5. JCrew straight (not wild about fit, not a flattering straight)
6. JCrew white straight (not wild about fit)
7. Kut plaid skinny (never wear)

Keep:
1. Gap 1969 Sexy Boyfriend
2. AG NIkki Slim Boyfriend (these are close to being too worn out to wear)
3. Plico Flared Crops (but these are now too big, so ultimately replace with JCrew high-waisted crops)
4. JBrand dark bootcuts
5. Paige medium-dark flares
6. Point Sur white slim Boyfriend
7. JCrew black long skinny
8. JCrew blue cropped skinny

Buy:
1. Uniqlo dark blue non-stretch cropped straight
2. JCrew light blue high-waisted crops (if/when they go on sale, to replace Plicro)
