Thanks Inge,
I'll see about a back shot. The hood is the same material but it has a detachable fake trim.

Shopping trip #2 post coming up. I planned it earlier, but unaccountably we have had no internet access at home for 3 days (it just came back)

I for one like hoodies Anne, but they can make a look more casual. (I once saw a woman wearing a very simple, gorgeous grey cashmere sweater with a hoodie and it looked quite sophisticated, I wouldn't mind copying that look;-)

I am still amazed at how well you wear bright red. It's such a fantastic colour on you! (still loving your specs too;-)

Could we see the sweater from the back (I'm just curious about the hoodie, it seems to be a different material than the rest of the sweater?).

And: since you named this shopping trip number 1, I'm hoping we are getting to see more goodies very soon?;-)

It's a great color on you and very cute. To help control pilling I use an inexpensive hand/fingernail brush on areas starting to pill each time I've worn a sweater. Only takes a sec each time and it's ready to go again.

Ooh I forgot to say - it is a hoodie? Do the design features redeem it ?

Thanks Dani. It is very warm, which was very much a point in its favour. I have mostly worn it instead of an coat or jacket to playgroup, the supermarket, school pickup etc.

Anne, the color is great on you! I don't think the pockets are meant to be hip pockets (you're not that long waisted ). They look fine to me. It looks like a fun winter piece. I don't know what to advise you about the fabric pilling. I've had many sweaters do that and I just get frustrated and complain about it with no solution. Do you wear it as a top layer under your outerwear? It looks very warm!

Leaving much my (Australian) winter shopping til July did not prove a good idea. It was after the winter sales, and so lots of the remaining stock wasn't in my size etc. But I did find (on sale too) this winter jumper (sweater) which I have been wearing all week.
It fulfilsmy criteria of being
*colourful
*able to be a standalone item with no worry about what is underneath
*casual
*a bit interesting, with the fake fur trim and pompoms

I am less keen on
*the pockets - because I am long waisted they hit at my waist (probably meant to be hip pockets, which I wouldn't mind)
*the fact that it looks like it will pill
here's the link
http://i297.photobucket.com/al.....0_7407.jpg
