Pretty pear it is! Which is kind of a surprise but hey, that's why I figured it'd be better to post some pictures - clearly my own assessment was biased and needed fresh eyes :)

I'll admit to being a bit excited by belt prospects. I've been trying a few on in shops but haven't had enough courage to bring any home.

I'm off to look up all the previous pear posts on the blog. Thanks again to you all, you're *so* helpful.

I was just like you: unhealthy weight, wanted to gain a bit, but it didn't quite distribute the way I had planned :p But I think you actually did end up how you wanted to. You look pearish to me. I have the same belly issues and waffle back and forth over whether or not I have apple tendencies, but honestly, it doesn't matter as long as I know how to dress myself, which I think I do.

Your long waist will allow you to wear all those amazing wide statement belts! I hope you take advantage of this look. It was made for you.

Great pics, Stringy! Thank hubby for us.

I say pretty pear with a long waist. Even though you feel that you have apple tendencies, you actually have a small defined waist. Definitely a great canvas for belts :0)

No worries at all - you sound like a totally normal person who is not 100% satisfied with her body right now. Are any of us? Believe me when I tell you that no matter how perfect you think someone looks, that person could point out a myriad of things about themselves they don't like or want to improve.

I'm not sure about your body type. Your hips and shoulders seem pretty even and you have a defined waist. You look quite petite and you do look long-torsoed to me. I would lean toward a slight pretty pear.

Yes I agree with Queenie - with perhaps some rectangle in there as well!

I was seeing a bit of pear tendancy too. Perhaps you're a pretty pear with a temporary apple tummy going on?

Oh, I sound like such a sad-sack having a pity party for myself! I'm not normally like that, it's just that I'm in analytical-mode right now.

Anyway, I'm off now to a Rock-Band party with friends to play pretend-guitar... I won't be around to answer any immediate questions, but will check back in tomorrow morning, Aussie time

Looking forward to hearing your honest opinions.

After my shopping rant from yesterday, I got my husband to take some pics of me to help me figure out my body type.

http://picasaweb.google.com.au.....directlink

I used to think I was a rectangle with a long torso, now I'm thinking apple with short legs. When I sit next to my sisters we're all the same height, then when we stand up I'm the shortest But I don't really know for sure and would appreciate the YLF opinion.

The little pot belly is a recent development, and I'd like to lose it. I used to want to gain weight because I was too scrawny (in the definitely-unhealthy region), but I thought it'd come on in a pear shape and give me a nice booty to shake. Having it stick out further than my chest makes me feel like a middle-aged man with a beer belly, very disappointing

Will have to try to find the happy medium point. And probably work on my posture (yoga and pilates are helping a lot, if anyone has a similar issue). But until then I've got to deal with what I've got.
