I love Jill Bolte Taylor's story too. She speaks so eloquently. I'm interested now to check out My Beautiful Broken Brain. I had not heard of it before. Thanks Deb.

Wow Deb, 29 seems so young to have a stroke.

This sounds very interesting. I'm always amazed by the power the brain has to heal itself and make new connections.

Thanks so much for posting this. A good friend of mine had a stroke some months ago and I've been wondering if I could find something like this to help me understand. Will definitely check it out.

Thank you Beth Ann, what a fascinating story. What I find interesting is how we can have a similar experience physically yet our body responds so differently. The individuality of out beings continues even when we have no control.

Thanks for sharing -- I'll check it out. I'm studying for a board certification test that covers CVA and other neurological disorders, so it might even be practically helpful to watch.

I heard this woman on my NPR station --- another fascinating story:
https://www.ted.com/talks/jill.....anguage=en

I just finished watching the documentary My Beautiful Broken Brain on Netflix. It is a very good movie and it took me back to my first stroke at 29 and the seizures that followed. It is the best thing I have seen showing the healing process as a person experiences it. I highly recommend it.
