lisa p - Aggie as in student/former student of Texas A&M University. I've heard "Aggie" used for at least one other A&M school, but I'm not sure there's a formal definition aside from that. Your ring sounds absolutely lovely, in addition to its meaning. I'm so sad it was stolen. :(

Thank you, Style Fan. The rose gold ring is a brand new acquisition - maybe I had that contrast in mind subconsciously when I got it.

Aggie - as in Faculty of Agriculture? (I don't think we use that term here in CA) I miss my professional ring , after seeing this photo. Mine is/was a hammered pinkie ring in gold - very subtle, but a recognized symbol of the faculty I graduated from. It was stolen in a house break-in a million years ago. And you do have pretty hands - love the delicate ring on your other hand.

Thank you, JAileen! That's sad about your husband's ring, but I understand if he wasn't wearing it. I remember talking to an old gentleman as I was walking to class once; I don't remember his year, but it was over 50 years since he graduated. Yes, totally smooth! It's an amazing sight.

You really do have beautiful hands. My husband's Aggie ring was stolen many years ago. I looked into replacing it, but never did. After all, it was stolen because he wasn't wearing it. When we were newly married, we had an elderly neighbor who saw the Aggie decal on my husband's truck, and stopped to talk one day. He showed me his Aggie ring. It was completely smooth: he had graduated in 1923!

Thank you, karen13. It is quite a contrast, isn't it? Rings are definitely problematic in gloves, and I hate it when a ring rotates and the top is pressing against one of my fingers. I take my rings off when I play the piano, too. The high school ring sounds lovely! You can always try wearing it on a chain. ;)

Thank you, Angie! I do rather like my hands, though their length makes glove fitting hard. The rose gold ring is a new favorite. It's actually adjustable in the middle of the spray, so I can get it over my knuckle but it doesn't move around much after that.

That is a great ring. I also love the contrast with the dainty one.

I almost never wear rings - got out of the habit when I moved to a 4 season climate 20 years ago and took gloves off and on all day. Even my wedding ring sits in a drawer. I have my mom’s high school class ring from Honolulu which has a lovely burgundy stone _ I may have to pull it out now that 8 have so much burgundy.

As we were discussing on today’s blog post, I am mostly on Team Rose Gold, with some silver and CZ. I don’t really like to mix metals. Except that I always wear my Aggie ring. It is immensely meaningful to me. The only days I haven’t worn it since I got it were historical costume events. The color is very much not good for my skin tone, but I don’t care.

I included a closeup. The design is identical for all Aggie rings, aside from the graduation year and the option of a small diamond on the shield. Mine is showing a good bit of wear to the fine detail now. The rings of old Ags are so worn there is literally no detail left.

For good measure, I also took a picture of the dainty little rose gold ring I just started wearing on my other hand.
